Job Description
We are seeking a Managing Editor, Editorial & Content Strategy to serve as both the editorial leader and operational hub of our Brand & Content function. Reporting to the VP, Brand & Content, this role owns content excellence across all channels-translating strategy, messaging, and business priorities into clear, compelling, and consistently high-quality content experiences.
This is a player-coach role. The Managing Editor will set editorial direction, govern quality and process, and drive digital content strategy while also rolling up their sleeves to develop high-priority assets, lead content programs, and handle day-to-day editorial execution. The ideal candidate brings deep expertise in both editorial craft and digital content strategy-equally fluent in voice, quality, and narrative as in content architecture, discoverability, and digital experience-and thrives in a lean, high-output environment where strategic thinking and hands-on delivery go hand in hand.
Responsibilities:
Editorial leadership and content excellence
  • Set and uphold editorial standards across all content channels-website, blog, social, podcast, video, client communications, and regional content-ensuring every asset reflects brand voice, messaging, and audience needs.
  • Own and continuously evolve the editorial style guide, voice and tone standards, and content principles that govern quality organization-wide.
  • Serve as the final editorial reviewer for high-profile and high-impact content, with authority over messaging consistency and narrative integrity.
  • Guide, coach, and support content creators, editors, and contributors across the organization-working through influence rather than direct management-to foster a culture of editorial rigor and continuous improvement.
  • Establish governance frameworks, review processes, and approval workflows that scale quality without creating bottleneck.

Content strategy and digital experience
  • Partner closely with the Senior Manager, Content Strategy to translate content priorities, messaging frameworks, and audience needs into actionable editorial and digital content plans.
  • Shape how strategic topics are expressed across channels, adapting messaging into compelling narratives, content structures, and digital experiences that align thought leadership, portfolio marketing, and brand content.
  • Develop and evolve content models, page frameworks, and approaches to digital content that support consistency, usability, discoverability, and engagement.
  • Partner with Digital Experience, Marketing Technology, and technical teams to ensure content strategy informs digital experiences and content presentation.
  • Ensure content is structured and optimized for digital consumption, including SEO, AEO, AI-assisted discovery, and emerging search behaviors.
  • Support website redesigns, content audits, content migrations, and other major digital content initiatives.

Content programs and operations
  • Lead key content programs, including blog, newsletter, and regional alert programs, ensuring strategic alignment, consistent execution, and ongoing optimization.
  • Manage editorial calendars, content pipelines, and content requests, balancing competing priorities across stakeholders and programs.
  • Design, manage, and continuously improve content workflows from ideation through publication, including intake, prioritization, approvals, production timelines, and publishing handoffs.
  • Develop and maintain templates, briefs, workflows, and operating procedures that support efficient and scalable content development.

Content development
  • Lead development of high-priority and high-visibility content, including reports, executive bylines, keynote presentations, flagship assets, and other strategic deliverables.
  • Conduct SME interviews, shape narratives, and write or edit content from concept through final delivery.
  • Provide developmental editing, copy editing, and proofreading support across a wide range of content types.
  • Develop content briefs, copy decks, page-level content approaches, and derivative assets that extend the value of core content.

Governance, performance, and stakeholder engagement
  • Establish guidelines and best practices for the responsible use of AI in content creation, editing, and optimization; ensure AI-assisted outputs meet brand and quality standards through appropriate human oversight.
  • Monitor evolving AI technologies and search behaviors, incorporating emerging best practices into content strategy and governance.
  • Partner with Legal and Compliance teams to establish content review standards and workflows for regulated or sensitive topics, balancing speed to market with risk management.
  • In collaboration with the Digital Experience team, monitor content performance and apply insights to improve content effectiveness across formats and channels.
  • Present editorial plans, performance insights, and recommendations to leadership; act as a trusted advisor on messaging, content effectiveness, and editorial standards.

Qualifications
  • 10+ years of experience in editorial, content strategy, content marketing, or related roles within a B2B, professional services, or enterprise environment
  • Proven success leading editorial programs, content initiatives, and cross-channel content strategies across multiple stakeholders and audiences
  • Exceptional writing, editing, and storytelling skills, with a strong command of tone, voice, and editorial standards
  • Experience developing editorial frameworks, style guides, governance models, and content operations that support consistent, high-quality content
  • Demonstrated expertise in digital content strategy, including content architecture, content modeling, and content optimized for modern digital experiences
  • Solid understanding of SEO, AEO, AI-driven search, content discoverability, content performance metrics, and data-informed content optimization principles
  • Demonstrated success managing editorial workflows, content operations, and complex content programs from ideation through publication
  • Experience supporting website redesigns, content migrations, or other large-scale digital content initiatives
  • Exceptional project management and prioritization skills, with the ability to manage competing priorities in a fast-paced, matrixed environment
  • Demonstrated ability to influence without authority, build alignment across functions, and work effectively with senior stakeholders, global teams, agencies, and content contributors
  • Experience working with global teams and adapting content approaches for international audiences; flexibility to collaborate across time zones, particularly with teams in Europe and India
  • Experience with AI-assisted content tools and governance practices, with a track record of establishing responsible AI use in a content environment
