Job description

Job Summary
As an Applications Engineer within our Intralogistics Solutions Group, you will promote Carolina Handling both internally and externally, working closely with Sales and Operations. You will support the sale of racking and other non-automation material handling solutions by coordinating and supporting technical activities across multiple departments, systems, and workflows. You may handle straightforward technical requirements independently or seek assistance from internal resources, Raymond, or other vendor partners to discover and develop all necessary technical requirements for each project.

Responsibilities

Sales Support

o Assist sales representatives with system specification analysis to provide clear, documented, and coordinated requirements.

o Support site surveys for projects, complete administrative requirements to build accurate bills of material and quotes.

o Partner with core sales representatives to evaluate customer requirements and present value-added products and services.

o Conduct compelling demos, assist with sales presentations, and train the sales force as needed.

  • Technical Coordination

o Review and design solutions, create facility layouts, prepare bills of material, collect vendor pricing, and support customer proposals.

o Liaise with other departments and external sources to address technical questions and assist with any impacts on the implementation schedule.

    • Coordinate with Carolina Handling, Raymond, and other vendor personnel during initial site-related activities to identify technical requirements.
  • Project Management Support

o Research and recommend emerging material handling and racking solutions.

o Develop and maintain a strong working knowledge of stick racking systems, related components, and sales/commercial acumen.

o Maintain working knowledge of the latest installation procedures and options, including pictures of various warehouse sites.

  • Technical Knowledge and Research

o Research and recommend emerging technical solutions.

Requirements

College degree or equivalent experience required.

2-4 years of experience in material handling sales or other similar industries preferred.

Proficient in Microsoft Office products including MS Project, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook.

Familiarity with AutoCAD preferred.

Proficient in basic pricing and bill of materials preparation for quoting purposes.

Visio or other related flow diagram software preferred.

Good written and verbal communication skills.

Ability to work independently with minimal supervision and in a team environment.

Adept at assimilating and disseminating information in a professional manner.

Demonstrate a team approach and work with others in pursuing common goals.

Demonstrate analytical and problem-solving skills.
