Job description

We are looking for an Application Support Engineer to provide hands-on administration and user support for a mission-critical academic software platform at a higher education institution in Santa Fe, New Mexico.

Remote work schedule may be available, local applicant preferred

This Long-term Contract position is ideal for a technology specialist who excels at solving application issues, guiding end users, and maintaining reliable system access in a collaborative campus environment.

The role will partner with faculty, academic leaders, and staff to keep the platform running smoothly, support related data and workflow activities, and contribute to effective application use across the institution.


Responsibilities:

• Oversee day-to-day administration of the institution’s cloud-based syllabus management system, ensuring stable performance and dependable user access.

• Update and maintain shared syllabus templates, published content, and configuration settings to support academic consistency.

• Plan and execute recurring syllabus setup activities, including annual rollovers, releases, and system-wide updates.

• Respond to support requests from faculty, deans, and staff by diagnosing issues, resolving problems, and providing clear guidance.

• Administer user roles, permissions, and account access while processing security-related requests accurately and promptly.

• Support course, curriculum, and program data activities, including entry, validation, and approval-related workflow coordination.

• Provision application access for new faculty and administrators as part of onboarding and ongoing user support.

• Work closely with academic departments and institutional leadership to encourage effective platform adoption and address operational needs.

• Contribute to related enterprise application administration tasks as needed, including support connected to the ongoing Workday implementation initiative.

• Create and refine documentation, procedures, and support practices to improve consistency and efficiency.

The successful applicant will have:

• At least 2 years of experience supporting, administering, or maintaining business, academic, or enterprise software applications.

• Proven ability to investigate technical issues, resolve user problems, and deliver a high level of customer service.

• Experience managing application access, security permissions, and role-based user administration.

• Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to assist both technical and non-technical users effectively.

• Comfortable handling data entry, system configuration, and workflow-driven administrative tasks with accuracy.

• Ability to manage multiple requests independently, organize priorities, and work effectively with limited supervision.

• Familiarity with cloud-based SaaS platforms and general application support best practices.

• Background in higher education or exposure to platforms such as Workday, Ellucian Banner, or similar systems is preferred.
