Dogtopia is the foremost provider of the highest quality dog care in the area. We are an open play facility that provides daycare, boarding and spa services. Dogtopia offers a fast-paced, exciting work environment and we are seeking new part/full-time members for our team!

Job Description

Dogtopia of Westchase is seeking hardworking, organized, and self-motivated Shift Leaders for our growing daycare location! We are seeking part time but you need to be all year employment only, no seasonal. While the position would start at part time (30-35 hours a week), there would be room for advancement in the future to full time.

The Shift Leader is responsible for maintaining accountability and safety for a team of up to 20 employees and a group of up to 100 customer dogs! We are a fast-paced business and the candidate should be prepared to spend the entire shift on his/her feet. Multi-tasking and maintaining organization in a busy environment is required.

Minimum Requirements:

*23 years of age or older

*Able to interact in a positive way with all sizes and types of dog (if you are afraid of ANY breed, this is not the place for you as Dogtopia does not breed discriminate)

*Ready to take on heavy cleaning on a daily basis (Lots of dogs means lots of cleaning!)

*Able to work days, evenings, weekends, and holidays

Successful team members are aware of their environment at all times and consistently attend to the ever-changing pack environment and special needs of each animal. This position requires a high level of responsibility as we are caring for the lives of animals and monitoring and maintaining a safe environment. This is a dirty job and HARD work which requires being self sufficient and the ability to maintain vigil without human interaction for long periods of time. Other daily assignments may include giving dogs baths to company standards and/or nail trims.

Duties and Responsibilities

-Ability to work cohesively with their team in a respectful and professional manner

-Effectively communicates both orally and written. Utilizes company tools to communicate relevant information daily via the activity log and to their supervisor.

-Maintains a positive attitude and demeanor in all aspects of their position including room management and customer service.

-Maintains consistent time and attendance standards and dress code at all times

-Takes their own development as a personal responsibility and uses mistakes or challenges as an opportunity to grow to a higher standard of performance.

- Upholding and setting the example for our company values

- Overseeing training and developing of team members, including offering daily feedback as well as writing and delivering performance reviews

- Providing the highest level of customer service to our clients, including managing any customer complaints through our online customer satisfaction rating system

- Ability to invoice customer purchases accurately, as well as monitor accountability of team in this area

- In-store and out-of-store marketing such as local dog events, special promotions, and customer competitions

- Ensuring that all Dogtopia health and safety policies are followed with regard to the dogs and the team members

Successful candidates should:

- Have a genuine affinity for dogs; they are the center of our business!

- Be willing and able to learn basics of dog behavior; attending the playrooms will be required on occasion, and all shift leaders will need to pass playroom attendant training.

- Be proficient in Microsoft Office including Excel

- Possess strong verbal communication skills and the ability to train and develop teams

- Possess strong skills in organization, multi-tasking, and maintaining oversight

- Demonstrate proven customer service skills

This is an entry level management position so prior management experience at a key holder or manager level is a plus but is not required. The starting salary for the position is $10.50/hour.
