Job description

Wellness Manager

Dogtopia

Dogtopia is looking for an outgoing, organized, and relationship-focused Wellness Manager to help ensure every dog continues to thrive after joining daycare. This role focuses on canine happiness, pet-parent communication, customer retention, community engagement, and sharing the Dogtopia experience through photos and social media.

Key ResponsibilitiesDog Wellness and Follow-Up
  • Begin managing each new dog’s daycare experience after their first 30 days.
  • Monitor each dog’s happiness, comfort, participation, and adjustment to daycare.
  • Communicate with the daycare team about any behavioral, social, or wellness concerns.
  • Ensure monthly report cards are completed and sent to pet parents on time.
  • Assist the Wellness Coordinator with follow-up calls, messages, and other tasks when needed.
Pet-Parent Relationships and Retention
  • Build strong, ongoing relationships with pet parents.
  • Check in regularly to ensure families are happy with their Dogtopia experience.
  • Follow up with parents whose dogs have not attended recently.
  • Help identify and resolve concerns before they affect the customer relationship.
  • Encourage consistent daycare attendance and educate parents on the benefits of regular socialization, exercise, and enrichment.
  • Support membership retention by helping dogs and their families feel recognized, valued, and connected.
Community Events
  • Help plan, promote, and attend events outside the facility.
  • Represent Dogtopia at dog parks, community parks, happy hours, local gatherings, and other pet-friendly events.
  • Engage with current and prospective pet parents while promoting Dogtopia’s services.
  • Take photos and videos during events for marketing and social media.
  • Help create welcoming experiences that strengthen Dogtopia’s presence in the community.
Social Media and Content
  • Take high-quality photos and videos of dogs during daycare and special events.
  • Help create and publish engaging social media content.
  • Capture meaningful moments that show dogs playing, learning, socializing, and having fun.
  • Follow Dogtopia’s safety, privacy, and brand standards when creating content.
  • Work with leadership to highlight events, celebrations, report cards, and customer success stories.
What We’re Looking For
  • Friendly, positive, and comfortable building relationships with pet parents.
  • Passionate about dogs and committed to their happiness and well-being.
  • Strong communication, organization, and follow-up skills.
  • Comfortable making phone calls, sending messages, and addressing customer concerns.
  • Confident representing Dogtopia at community events.
  • Creative and comfortable taking photos, recording videos, and helping with social media.
  • Dependable, proactive, and able to manage multiple responsibilities.
  • Able to work collaboratively with leadership, the Wellness Coordinator, Canine Coaches, and front-desk team members.
  • Previous experience in customer service, hospitality, sales, pet care, marketing, or community outreach is preferred.
How Success Will Be Measured
  • Monthly report cards are completed accurately and on time.
  • New dogs remain happy, comfortable, and engaged after their first 30 days.
  • Pet parents receive consistent and meaningful communication.
