Job description

Job Summary
We are seeking an experienced, compassionate and dedicated Registered Veterinar Technician or Veterinary Assistant to join our team. The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in providing high-quality care for animals in our veterinary clinic. This position requires a strong commitment to animal welfare, excellent communication skills, and the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment. The Veterinary Assistant will assist veterinarians and veterinary technicians in delivering medical care and support to pets and their owners.
Responsibilities:
Assist veterinarians during examinations and procedures, ensuring the comfort and safety of animals.
Administer medications as directed by the veterinarian, including oral, topical, and injectable medications.
Perform routine animal care tasks such as bathing, grooming, and exercising animals.
Handle animals safely and humanely during examinations and treatments.
Maintain cleanliness and organization of the clinic, including sanitizing equipment and work areas.
Monitor animal behavior and health status, reporting any changes to the veterinary team.
Assist with client communication, providing information on pet care, treatment plans, and follow-up instructions.
Support veterinary technicians in performing diagnostic tests and procedures.
Participate in training sessions for new staff members or interns as needed.
Requirements:
Previous experience working in a veterinary clinic or animal care facility is preferred.
Knowledge of animal anatomy, husbandry practices, and basic veterinary procedures.
Familiarity with medication administration techniques is highly desirable.
Strong skills in animal handling and behavior management.
Ability to work collaboratively within a team environment while also being self-motivated.
Excellent communication skills for interacting with clients and team members effectively.
A passion for animal welfare and commitment to providing exceptional care to pets.
Certification or coursework related to veterinary technology or animal care is a plus but not required.
