Key responsibilities

  • Translate high-level strategic initiatives into detailed requirements and specifications.

  • Coordinate with technical teams to create structured epics and prioritize work for delivery teams.

  • Manage stakeholder communications, gather requirements, and ensure sign-offs to facilitate project progress.

Job description

Join Fleetworthy's Data Operations team as a Business Analyst and become the critical "next layer" that transforms high-level strategic initiatives into clear, actionable work for our delivery teams. This is a role for someone who thrives at the intersection of business needs and technical execution-translating ambiguity into clarity and keeping multiple strategic initiatives moving forward.

What makes this role different:

  • Work on cutting-edge data and AI platforms (Databricks, AI/Genie Code, modern data stack)
  • Direct exposure to senior leadership across a growing 500-person company
  • Own initiatives end-to-end, from stakeholder conversations to delivered solutions
  • High variety: Revenue, Finance, Product, Enterprise teams - never siloed to one domain

The Problem You'll Solve

Our Data Operations teams are at an inflection point. We have:

  • Multiple concurrent strategic initiativesand not enough time to fully flesh out requirements and dependencies
  • Two delivery teams (Data Platform and Data Services) focused on executing committed quarterly work
  • Multiple avenues to make ad-hoc requests, slowing things down

 That's where you come in.

You'll be the bridge - taking strategic direction and stakeholder needs, fleshing out the details, and structuring work so delivery teams can execute confidently. You'll bring rigor to Enterprise requests and use AI tools to scale your work across multiple domains.

What You'll Do:

Requirements Translation & Deep Dives

  • Gain high-level understanding or projects from the Director and leadership meetings, fleshing out details
  • Conduct follow-up interviews with stakeholders to uncover granular requirements
  • Transform vague asks into real specs: source systems touched, definition of done, stakeholder sign-off, priority tier
  • Use AI (Claude, ChatGPT, Genie Code) to analyze Slack & Email threads, draft requirements, and explore data
  • Work with technical teams to translate business language into technical requirements delivery teams can act on

 Solution Coordination & Planning

  • Work with Director to ideate high-level solution approaches
  • Create well-structured epics and Jira tickets with clear acceptance criteria
  • Work with Data Platform and Data Services managers to prioritize and plan work
  • Contribute to quarterly planning alongside team managers and Director
  • Keep multiple balls in the air when teams are focused on delivery

Enterprise/Business Enablement

  • Create asingle intake front doorfor RevOps, Finance, and other Enterprise & Product team requests
  • Understand Enterprise teams' data needs and pain points and represent Enterprise voices in technical decisions

Supporting Responsibilities:

  • Maintain Confluence documentation of design decisions, findings, finalized definitions
  • Pursue sign-offs from stakeholders to keep work moving
  • Coordinate cross-team handoffs between Data Services and Data Platform

What You'll Work With

  • Work in Databricks notebooks to query and explore data catalog
  • UseGenie Code(AI-assisted coding) to help enable your data discovery
  • Understand the platform well enough to communicate with technical teams

  • Frequent use of LLM agents to coordinate efforts across teams
  • Tools such asClaude, ChatGPT, GitHub Copilot, Cursor, etc.
  • Use AI to accelerate drafting of requirements, analyzing Slack threads, generating ticket structures, exploring data
  • Why this matters:Our enterprise teams (RevOps, Finance, Product) are AI-enabled and generating more requests faster. You'll need to use AI tools to support both our Data Platform and Data Services teams.

Microsoft 365 Suite (Proficient)

  • Schedule and coordinate meetings across stakeholders
  • Manage documents via OneDrive/SharePoint
  • Create presentations for leadership
  • You're a power user, not just a casual user
