The Sr. Manager, Market Research & Insights will manage and guide teams responsible for delivering strategic market research and insights, implementing departmental plans and ensuring team performance and success across global initiatives. You will make decisions affecting team operations and performance, approving team projects and resource allocation, requiring advanced leadership, project management, problem-solving, and communication skills. You will foster a culture of excellence by leading performance management, driving talent development, ensuring positive employee relations, and enhancing employee engagement and recognition. This role drives business impact by translating complex data into strategic direction.
In this role, a typical day will include:
Strategic Planning & Forecast Leadership
  • Lead the annual Strategic Plan forecast for the Vision Care franchise, including consolidation of actuals, market data, key assumptions, and creation of executive-level output decks
  • Build and maintain the Vision Care Excel master forecasting model with historical actuals, dynamic inputs, and multi-year forecast periods
  • Lead weekly cross-regional forecast reviews to validate assumptions, challenge inputs, ensure timelines, and incorporate updates across both models
  • Develop ELT-ready presentations summarizing market outlook, competitive dynamics, and Surgical franchise assumptions

Market Modeling -Advanced Analytics & Financial Evaluation
  • Create and maintain annual Vision Care market models (dollar and unit forecasts) used for Strategic Plan, scenario modeling, and ad-hoc analyses
  • Produce quarterly fact books summarizing Vision Care market size and Alcon market share using syndicated data sources
  • Conduct ad-hoc financial and market analyses, including sensitivity modeling and performance drivers, supporting Vision Care leadership, ELT, and Board requests
  • Support financial modeling initiatives such as R&D project evaluations, and strategic business cases

Data Infrastructure & Visualization
  • Support quarterly tracking of Alcon's Vision Care market share for executive compensation calculations
  • Create and update Tableau dashboards for Vision Care market insights, performance tracking, and Strategic Plan revenue forecasts

What You Will Bring to Alcon:
  • Bachelor's Degree or Equivalent years of directly related experience (or high school+15 yrs; Assoc.+11 yrs; M.S.+4 yrs; PhD+3 yrs)
  • The ability to fluently read, write, understand, and communicate in English
  • 7 Years of Relevant Experience
