As a Field Reimbursement Expert Core Surgical - West will manage daily patient access & reimbursement activity for accounts in a specified geography to support the Alcon surgical and ocular health portfolio. Specific responsibilities include working with provider offices and outpatient facilities to ensure both providers and staff are educated on payer and reimbursement policies and procedures, coding, and claim appeals. This role will be remote with 60% Travel. In this role a typical day will include:
  • Establish and maintain strategic relationships with providers and outpatient facility accounts within your assigned geography
  • Partner with field sales in assigned geographic area to build strong engagement and positive customer experiences
  • Educate and ensure providers understand coding and billing requirements for Alcon equipment and devices
  • Analyze local market data and healthcare dynamics to help inform business planning with field teams
  • Serve as the subject matter expert in the training and deployment of Value Tools for the Alcon portfolio of products
  • Provide managed care and reimbursement training and educational activities for internal and external stakeholders, as necessary
  • Remain current on key reimbursement and policy activities, as well as serve as an expert on Ophthalmic business trends within key provider accounts
  • Ensure all pertinent information regarding current products, new products, competitive data and overall information important to Alcon is shared with home office teams
  • Represent Alcon at various industry functions such reimbursement meetings, professional organization meetings, and other meetings as assigned

What You'll Bring to Alcon:
  • Bachelor's Degree or Equivalent years of directly related experience (or high school +13 yrs; Assoc.+9 yrs; M.S.+2 yrs; PhD+0 yrs)
  • The ability to fluently read, write, understand and communicate in English
  • 5 Years of Relevant Experience

Preferred Qualifications
  • Glaucoma Reimbursement
  • Experience with pull through process for reimbursement
  • At least 5 years of medical device experience, calling on field-based customers with demonstrated successful track record
  • Account Management and/or Reimbursement experience working in the provider office setting, proven track-record of building strong customer relationships
  • Medical Practice Management or certified professional coder experience would be considered
  • Experience working collaboratively in a matrix organization
  • Experience working with billing and medical claims personnel in healthcare settings preferred
