Job description

Job Summary
 
The Interior Sales Manager is responsible for working with the Western Aircraft MRO sales team and customers to drive sales of interior refurbishment and modification projects on business aircraft and Special Mission Aircraft. Additionally, the Interior Sales Manager will lead development of project proposals, design schemes, and quotes, and will develop relationships with a wide array of outside suppliers.  The optimum candidate will have a thorough knowledge of aircraft interior completion, certification, production, and manufacturing operations, as well as an eye for design.
 
**Qualified candidates must be based in the Mountain or Pacific Time Zones, preferably near a large city / airport with major airline service**
Duties & Responsibilities
  • Liaison with Western Aircraft clientele on all Interior Program design projects.  Travel (often on short notice) to meet with customers, including aircraft principals, to understand their needs and provide attractive design options.
  • Work closely with the MRO Sales team to identify potential new interior business and close sales.
  • Efficiently generate proposals and quotes for Interior Program refurbishment and modification projects.
  • Assemble work packages/statements of work (SOW) based on customer profile and interior program needs.
  • Accurately research and cost/price parts, labor, and outside services for each project.
  • Proactively work with Interior Program Manager and other Aircraft Services staff to ensure quotes are accurate, and support profitability targets for the company.  Coordinate with this same group to ensure manpower, resources, and hangar space are available and scheduled in support of projects.
  • Maintain costing and pricing data and reference materials for all interior goods.
  • Produce summary documents of proposal details and coordinate approval for quote release.
  • Develop relationships with OEM and vendor partners, and leverage these as required to develop proposals that minimize cost and maximize profitability for the company.  Work with these same partners to ensure they deliver Western Aircraft’s requirements.
  • Seek and proactively suggest opportunities to upsell products and services.
  • Ensure customer and opportunity data is maintained in Salesforce.com.
  • Stay current with industry trends, products, and competition, and share relevant information with the MRO Sales team.
  • Actively participate in various department and company meetings.
  • Perform other duties as may be assigned from time to time by the position leadership.
Qualifications & Job Requirements
  • Prefer five (5) years’ experience, with corporate (VIP) interior completions
  • Minimum three (3) years’ leadership experience in an interior or completion shop
  • Thorough knowledge of aircraft interior completion, production and manufacturing operations
  • Familiarity with the industry vendors, regulations and current procedures for completing interiors on a timely and competitive basis
  • Must be able to read, understand and utilize blueprints in a fabrication business
  • Experienced in interior install including removing and replacing interior components
  • Experience with paint, wood finishing, and soft goods preferred
  • Strong customer service skills and executive presence

Education:

  • Bachelor’s degree in business management or aviation preferred or equivalent working experience in Aviation Interiors
Other Prerequisites
  • Qualified candidates must be based in the Mountain or Pacific Time Zones, preferably near a large city / airport with major airline service.
  • Pass pre-employment drug screen and background check
  • Ability to obtain Airport Issued security badge
  • Valid Driver’s License
Work Environment & Physical Requirements
  • Work is performed primarily indoors in a temperature-controlled environment. Requires sitting for 6-8 hours a day.  Occasional lifting and carrying of up to 50 lbs. Constantly requires clear vision to read printed materials and computer screens. Constantly requires repetitive movement of the wrists, hands, and/or fingers. Requires as much as 50% travel to visit customers, vendors, and attend trade shows; must be able to conform to TSA regulations for airline travel.
