Job Description

This role supports growing customer demand by delivering high-quality interior work on corporate aircraft and luxury yachts. You will perform interior installation, refurbishment, and minor modifications while helping to maintain the facility, tools, and overall shop environment to a high standard of quality and cleanliness.

Responsibilities

  • Install and fit carpeting, insulation, soundproofing materials, and fabric accessories in aircraft interiors and, where applicable, luxury yachts.
  • Perform varying levels of parts replacement and repair on interior components, ensuring all work meets quality and safety standards.
  • Carry out basic electrical system installation, modification, and refurbishment related to aircraft interiors.
  • Complete minor modifications on interior panels, seats, carpets, cabinetry, and upholstery using appropriate hand and power tools.
  • Assist with aircraft detailing and cleaning to maintain a professional and polished appearance.
  • Support the maintenance and repair of shop facilities, equipment, and tooling to ensure safe and efficient operation.
  • Use basic computer skills to navigate electronic training modules, technical manuals, and maintenance databases.
  • Maintain cleanliness and organization of the shop and surrounding work areas.
  • Communicate clearly and effectively with team members, supervisors, and other departments to coordinate work and resolve issues.
  • Perform other job-related duties as assigned by supervisors or management to support overall operations.

Essential Skills

  • 2–5 years of experience working on aircraft interiors or luxury yachts, with a strong corporate aircraft background.
  • Hands-on experience with aircraft interior work, including installation, repair, and minor modifications of panels, seats, carpets, cabinetry, and upholstery.
  • Proficiency using hand tools and power tools for interior finishing, including drills, sanders, and other aviation-related tools.
  • Basic electrical skills related to installation and modification of interior electrical systems.
  • Ability to read and follow technical instructions, manuals, and electronic documentation.
  • Basic computer skills to access electronic training, manuals, and maintenance databases.
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to producing high-quality work.
  • Effective verbal communication skills to work collaboratively within a large team environment.
  • Ability to work safely with sheet metal cutters, glue guns, metal benders, and other shop equipment.
  • Capability to work occasionally outside on the ramp as required by operational needs.
  • Ability to provide and use a personal set of tools appropriate for interior technician work.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

  • Experience in aviation maintenance or MRO environments, particularly on corporate aircraft.
  • Experience in interior finishing for aircraft or luxury yachts, including upholstery and cabinetry.
  • Familiarity with aviation maintenance practices and procedures.
  • Exposure to A&P environments or teams, even if not holding an A&P certificate.
  • Comfort working with adhesives, fabrics, and finishing materials in an interior shop setting.

Work Environment

You will work in a large MRO facility as part of sizable, collaborative teams focused on aircraft interior maintenance and modification. The role includes a structured schedule, with a 4/10 second shift (Monday through Thursday) and a first shift option of Monday through Friday from 7:00 a.m. to 3:30 p.m., depending on operational needs. Work takes place primarily in a shop environment with access to specialized tools and equipment, with occasional work performed outside on the ramp. You will regularly use hand and power tools, electrical power tools, sheet metal cutters, glue guns, metal benders, and other interior-specific equipment. The environment emphasizes safety, organization, and cleanliness, and you will be expected to maintain your own tools and keep your work area clean and orderly.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Statesville, NC.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $30.00 - $38.00/hr.
