In the Ford Advanced Driver Assistance Systems (ADAS) program, Ford's Safety Electronics team designs and develops hardware, functional models, and software that provide Best in Class behavior for features like Adaptive Cruise Control, Automatic Emergency Braking, Cross Traffic Alert, Active Park Assist and 360 Camera Systems. The ADAS simulation team supports all software development activities by providing the necessary tools to generate and test code.ย 

The Minimum requirements we seek:ย 

  • B.S. in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, Robotics, Mechatronics or a related field or a combination of education and equivalent experienceย 

  • 3+ years of experience with programming in C++ (11 or above), Python or other Object-Oriented Programming (OOP) languages in Windows or Linux environmentsย 

Our Preferred requirementsย 

  • M.S. in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, Robotics, Mechatronics or a related fieldย 

  • 3+ years of Experience with Linux or other POSIX Operating Systemsย 

  • 3+ years of Experience with networking (TCP/IP)ย 

  • 3+ years of developing software using modern development tools like Bazel, Docker, Git, GitHub Actions, Kubernetes, and Jenkinsย 

  • 3+ years of developing software on Cloud platforms like Google Cloud, AWS or Azureย 

  • 8+ or more years of relevant experience in software design, including debugging, performance analysis, and automation of testing designsย 

  • Experience developing platforms or tools for internal customers.ย 

  • Experience with AI, cloud, simulation, accelerated computing, and Python ecosystemย 

  • Experience with optimizing large scale software architecture through concurrency or GPU technologyย 

  • Experience with Robot Operating System (ROS) or other middlewareย 

  • Experience with vehicle systems and their role in ADAS simulationย

This position is a salary grade 6 through 8 and ranges from $83,000 to $160.000.

Palo Alto - This position is a salary grade 6 though 8 and ranges from 123,000 to 245,000.

The individual in this role is responsible for developing and maintaining full vehicle simulation solutions to support Ford's ADAS software development. The individual will also work closely with team members to collaborate with our suppliers and other relevant Ford teams to meet the needs from Ford's ADAS software developers in Agile working environment.ย 

You will:ย 

  • Lead the development of next Gen Advanced Driver Assistance Systems (ADAS) simulation environment using C++ย 

  • Develop ADAS simulation methods, processes, tools and documentation to integrate multiple ADAS features to support feature design, verification and validationย 

  • Manage the deployment and release of the next Gen ADAS simulation environments on CI/CD pipeline to test ADAS software on every code changeย 

  • Support the integration of vehicle, sensor and feature control models and software to support the delivery of ADAS featuresย 

  • Support on-going CAE correlations effortsย 

  • Support the development of plan to transition physical vehicle testing to simulation-based testsย 

  • Contribute to team results through ownership in agile software development processย
