Data Management Director

Position Overview

In this role, the Data Management Director sits at the center of our Business Information organization, partnering closely with Business Process, Business Intelligence, Product Development, Supply Chain, Operations, Finance, and Technology. This role will report directly to the Chief Information Officer and will have the opportunity to build a capability that supports every department across the company.

Objectives & Responsibilities
  • Own and improve enterprise master data accuracy, quality, and governance across key business domains (Product, Vendor, Customer, etc.).
  • Optimize and manage the Product Information Management (PIM) system (Salsify) and product data lifecycle.
  • Ensure reliable, accurate data integration across enterprise systems and drive automation.
  • Establish data governance standards that improve data quality, consistency, and organizational trust.
  • Lead the Enterprise Data Management team while supporting the company's longโ€‘term data strategy and scalability.
  • Maintain the accuracy, quality, and dayโ€‘toโ€‘day management of enterprise master data.
  • Develop and improve processes that enhance data quality, consistency, and stewardship.
  • Identify opportunities to streamline workflows, reduce manual work, and improve operational efficiency.
  • Own and continuously enhance the Salsify PIM environment, including product taxonomy, attributes, digital assets, and workflows.
  • Collaborate with Product Development, Marketing, Operations, and Supply Chain to ensure complete and accurate product information throughout its lifecycle.
  • Ensure seamless data flow across Microsoft Dynamics Business Central, Avectous WMS, Salsify, ClickUp, BigQuery, and other business systems.
  • Partner with Data Engineering to improve system integrations, monitoring, reliability, and automation.
  • Establish and enforce practical data governance standards across departments.
  • Monitor data quality metrics and proactively drive continuous improvement.
  • Lead, mentor, and manage the Enterprise Data Management team while ensuring SLA compliance for support, escalations, and stakeholder communication.
  • Collaborate with Software Engineering, Data Engineering, and Business Intelligence to support enterprise reporting and data infrastructure.
  • Contribute to the strategic vision for enterprise data management as the organization grows.
Skills & Qualifications
  • Bachelorโ€™s degree or equivalent experience.
  • Experience leading initiatives involving enterprise data, master data, product information, business systems, or data governance that delivered measurable business impact.
  • Strong understanding of data quality, governance, and master data concepts.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead projects, influence crossโ€‘functional teams, and drive execution.
  • Excellent communication, organization, and problemโ€‘solving skills.
  • Strong critical thinking skills with the ability to understand both the immediate and downstream impact of decisions.
  • A bias toward action and a willingness to take ownership of complex problems until theyโ€™re solved.
  • Experience with Salsify or another Product Information Management (PIM) platform.
  • Experience with Microsoft Dynamics Business Central or similar ERP platforms.
  • Familiarity with BigQuery, Snowflake, Azure, or other modern cloud data platforms.
  • Working knowledge of Power BI or another modern BI platform.
  • Experience supporting consumer products, manufacturing, distribution, retail, or eCommerce organizations.
