Regular team meetings, cultural competency training, and encouraging feedback can help managers build trust and ensure all team members feel valued. Emphasizing collaboration and recognizing individual strengths also contribute to better team performance and morale.

What is management?

Management is the process of planning, organizing, leading, and controlling resources, including people, finances, and materials, to achieve organizational goals efficiently and effectively. Managers set objectives, coordinate activities, and make strategic decisions to guide teams and organizations toward success. Savant is seeking a Director of Practice Management to join our Advisory/Wealth Management Leadership team.

As Savant scales through organic growth and acquisitions, ensuring clarity, consistency, and operating discipline across advisor practices is a strategic imperative. The Director of Practice Management is an enterprise leadership role responsible for defining, owning, and evolving firmwide advisor operating standards that enable scalable growth while preserving regional and advisor-level flexibility. This role sets the enterprise operating model for advisory practices; execution, coaching, and local adoption are owned by Regional Directors and field leadership. Therefore, this role will:

  • Define, document, and maintain enterprise-owned operating standards that are broadly understood and ensure that they’re embedded into Regional Director coaching rhythms and planning cycles.

  • Improve the impact and consistency of advisor practices, evidenced by reduced variability in planning, production, and operating behaviors.

  • Act as the point of accountability for advisory practice analytics while partnering with Regional Directors, Corporate Finance, and Business Analytics teams to ensure analytics reliability and structure frameworks guide decisions and processes.

  • Establish clear guardrails and minimum standards for the advisory practices throughout Savant.

  • Ensure advisor programs and initiatives launch with defined owners, timelines, adoption expectations, and post-launch measurements.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Define, document, and maintain firmwide advisor operating standards and best practices, with a focus on day-to-day advisor workflows, planning cadence, and operating discipline

  • Establish clear guardrails and minimum standards while allowing flexibility within defined frameworks

  • Own and evolve advisor standards to support consistency across legacy and newly acquired firms

  • Partner with Regional Directors to ensure standards are clearly communicated, coachable, and scalable

  • Continuously evaluate standards to ensure they remain practical, relevant, and aligned with firm strategy

  • Serve as a strategic thought partner to the ALT on advisor-related initiatives and enterprise priorities

  • Own and evolve the firm’s annual advisor business planning frameworks and supporting tools

  • Partner on advisor compensation modeling, providing structure, scenario analysis, and decision support

  • Help design and support rollout of major advisor-facing initiatives, ensuring clarity of intent, sequencing, and expectations

  • Elevate decision-making by grounding discussions in structured frameworks and reliable data

  • Directly manage and provide leadership to the Analytics Manager

  • Set analytical priorities and ensure alignment between analytics output and business needs

  • Ensure advisor-related dashboards, reports, and models are accurate, trusted, and decision-ready

  • Act as the point of accountability for analytical clarity and transparency related to advisor performance, planning, and compensation

  • Partner cross-functionally with Finance and Business Intelligence teams to ensure strong data integrity and alignment

  • Support faster, more consistent integration of acquired firms through standardized advisor operating frameworks

  • Reduce variability and ambiguity in advisor operations across regions

  • Identify opportunities to simplify, systematize, and scale advisor practices without sacrificing quality or client experience

  • Take a forward-looking view by researching industry best practices and selectively incorporating them into Savant’s operating model

This role requires the following:

Education:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Business, Finance, Analytics, or related field; advanced degree is a plus

Experience:

  • At least 8 years of experience in wealth management, financial advisor operations, or advisor operations
  • Demonstrated experience defining and scaling operating standards and frameworks in a growing organization.

  • Prior leadership and/or people management experience required.

  • Strong strategic thinking skills with the ability to translate strategy into practical execution

  • High level of comfort working with data, analytics, and business models to inform decision

  • Excellent communication and stakeholder-management skills, particularly with senior leader,

  • Ability to operate at both enterprise and tactical levels—setting direction while ensuring execution

  • Willingness and ability to travel periodically
