JOB SUMMARY
A Management Trainee is responsible for learning all aspects of tunnel car wash operations. Under the direction of a designated General Manager Trainer, the Management Trainee will gain hands-on experience in daily site operations, customer service, sales performance, equipment maintenance, safety compliance, and team leadership. The trainee will learn how to maintain a clean, safe, and efficient wash environment while developing the skills necessary to recruit, hire, train, schedule, and supervise employees.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
  • Complete all Management Trainee training requirements and certifications.
  • Learn and demonstrate all operational functions of a tunnel car wash, including vehicle loading, tunnel operations, customer service, membership sales, lot maintenance, and site appearance.
  • Direct and coordinate team members in providing exceptional customer service and a positive guest experience.
  • Respond to customer questions, concerns, and complaints in a professional and timely manner.
  • Learn how to maximize revenue through wash package sales, membership growth, customer retention, and promotional programs.
  • Learn how to manage labor, control operating expenses, and improve overall site profitability.
  • Assist with coaching, training, and developing team members to ensure compliance with company standards and operating procedures.
  • Lead by example and demonstrate proficiency in all site functions, including point-of-sale systems, membership management tools, tunnel operations, equipment inspections, and cleaning procedures.
  • Learn preventative maintenance procedures and assist in monitoring equipment performance to minimize downtime.
  • Maintain accountability for site cleanliness, safety, operational efficiency, equipment condition, inventory, cash handling, and overall facility appearance.
  • Ensure compliance with all safety policies, environmental regulations, and operational procedures.
  • Learn workforce management practices, including recruiting, interviewing, hiring, scheduling, performance management, and employee development.
  • Follow established communication protocols and maintain effective communication with site leadership and support teams.
  • Monitor and review key performance indicators (KPIs), including sales, membership growth, customer satisfaction, labor costs, and operational efficiency.
  • Performance for this role is measured with direct reference to responsibilities indicated above and their corresponding metrics.

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES: Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws. QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS: Required to work 50 hours per week. To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE: High School, College Preferred, 2 - 4 years retail Management Experience, Car Wash preferred
LANGUAGE SKILLS: Effectively present information to Customers, Associates and Management. Ability to read, analyze and interpret financial reports and legal documents. Ability to respond to common inquiries or complaints from associates, customers, regulatory agencies, or members of the business community. Must be able to speak, read and write in the English language.
MATHEMATICAL SKILLS: Ability to work with and apply mathematical concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical situations.
REASONING ABILITY: Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written oral, diagram or schedule form.
CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS: Current SC Driver's License, required auto insurance, reliable means of transportation and acceptable Motor Vehicle Report.
