The Electrical Construction Project Management Trainee will learn branch operations through a series of work-related assignments beginning at an entry level position. Trainees will gain practical hands-on field experience while learning MetroPower's mission, vision, culture, and values. Upon successful completion of all workplace assignments, the trainee will be permanently assigned to a MetroPower Office in Florida, Georgia or Alabama.
Essential Functions
Selectees must behave consistently with MetroPower's Mission and Vision and focus on safety, policies, procedures, and operational guidelines. Trainees will gain knowledge of all aspects of branch management operations including but not limited to worksite safety, waste elimination, estimating, bidding, leadership, sales, material handling, order processing, and provide an outstanding level of customer service. Reliable and regular attendance is required.
Qualifications
This position requires a willingness to learn and work in a fast-paced environment, possess excellent interpersonal skills and be able to interact effectively with MetroPower employees, customers and vendors. Candidates must be quick learners and consistently display a positive attitude and willingness to assume a variety of training and supervisory opportunities within the company. They must also have a desire to work in a team-based environment and contribute immediately. This position requires a valid driver's license issued by the state of permanent assignment and clean driving record.
Incumbent must possess:
- Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical, Electrical, Civil Engineering, or Construction Management.
Related construction experience may substitute for college education

Required Skills & Physical Requirements

- Ability to bend, stoop, squat, sit and maneuver in confined spaces
- Ability to wear respirators in environments that contain silica dust and other hazmat
- Ability to maintain workloads that may include interstate and intrastate travel and daily
timeframes that could exceed typical business hours
