Job description

QuarterLine (QL), a Planned Systems International (PSI) company, is seeking a skilled and motivated Internal Medicine Physician to provide patient care services at Mike O’Callahan Military Medical Center (MOMMC), Nellis Air Force Base, Nevada. This position plays a critical role in delivering timely, high-quality, patient-centered care environment in support of the military healthcare mission.

The ideal candidate will possess strong clinical expertise, sound medical judgment, and the ability to effectively manage emergent and complex cases. Excellent communication, collaboration, and leadership skills are also critical to success in this position.

  • Duty Hours: Monday through Friday between the hours of 0700-1700 as coordinated by the section.

  • On-Call Hours: N/A 

  • Overage Hours: Overage hours are only available for continuity of care requirements or emergencies. Overage hours shall NTE 600 hours annually. 


  • Provide comprehensive outpatient Internal Medicine care for adult patients, including the evaluation, diagnosis, treatment, and long-term management of acute and chronic medical conditions.
  • Deliver evidence-based, patient-centered care across a broad spectrum of Internal Medicine disorders, including cardiovascular, pulmonary, gastrointestinal, endocrine, renal, neurological, rheumatologic, and infectious diseases.
  • Conduct new patient evaluations, follow-up appointments, telehealth visits, and virtual consultations in accordance with Military Treatment Facility (MTF) policies and procedures.
  • Coordinate patient care with specialty providers, ancillary services, community resources, and multidisciplinary healthcare teams to ensure continuity of care.
  • Maintain accurate, timely, and compliant medical documentation, coding, and patient records in accordance with DHA, MTF, Joint Commission, HIPAA, and other applicable regulatory standards.
  • Participate in quality improvement initiatives, patient safety programs, preventive health measures, and population health management activities.
  • Provide patient and family education regarding disease prevention, wellness, treatment plans, and long-term health maintenance.
  • Collaborate effectively with military, civilian, and contract healthcare personnel while supporting the mission and standards of the Military Health System.
  • Participate in clinical meetings, professional staff activities, committee assignments, and other administrative responsibilities as required.
  • Support the education and training of medical residents, physician assistant students, medical students, and other healthcare trainees, as applicable.
  • Maintain compliance with TRICARE, DHA, and Military Health System policies, standards, and clinical practice guidelines.

  • Degree: Doctor of Medicine (M.D.) or Doctor of Osteopathy (D.O.).  
  • Education: Must have a qualifying degree MD/DO complete in the 50 states, US Territories or Qualifying degree, Educational Commission for Foreign Medical Graduates (ECFMG) certificate or Fifth Pathway certificate for individuals who obtained premedical education in the US and received undergraduate medical education abroad.
  • Internship/Residency/Fellowship: Successful completion of an internship and residency program, corresponding to the specialty (Emergency Services Physician) required in the TO, which has been approved by the Accreditation Council for Graduate Medical Education or the Committee on Postdoctoral Training of the American Osteopathic Association. Subsequent to obtaining a Doctor of Medicine or Doctor of Osteopathy degree, a candidate must have had at least 1 year of supervised experience providing clinically direct service in a clinical setting (i.e., a 1-year internship or the first year of a residency program in a hospital or an institution accredited for such training). For purposes of this requirement, graduate training programs include only those internship and residency programs that are approved by accrediting bodies recognized within the United States or Canada. Descriptions of such programs are described below.
    • An internship program involves broadly based clinical practice in which physicians acquire experience in treating a variety of medical problems under supervision (e.g., internal medicine, surgery, general practice, obstetrics, gynecology, and pediatrics). Such programs are in hospitals or other institutions accredited for internship training an appropriate accrediting body.
    • A residency program involves training in a specialized field of medicine in a hospital or an institution accredited for training in the specialty by an appropriate accrediting body.
  • Experience: The General Internal Medicine Physician shall have been actively employed in the practice of Internal Medicine or in training for 24 of the last 36 months. Must also have sufficient experience within the past 24 months in adequately performing the following medical procedures, to include, but not limited to:
    • Required:
      • Electrocardiogram (ECG) interpretation
      • Cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR)
  • Certifications:
    • Basic Life Support (BLS)
    • Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) or Advanced Life Support (ALS)
    • BLS/ACLS/ALS Certifications must be through American Heart Association or American Red Cross approved training programs. Members must present proof of current certification(s) through American Heart Association or American Red Cross. Computer-based training does not constitute fulfilling the training requirements.
  • Board Certification: The Board Certified Internal Medicine Physician must have certification by the American Board of Internal Medicine or American Osteopathic Board of Internal Medicine.
  • Licensure: Must have a permanent, full, and unrestricted Medical License to practice medicine in the state of Nevada.
