Job description

Treasury Management Sales Officer

A growing regional bank is seeking an experienced Treasury Management Sales Officer to support the continued expansion of its Middle Market banking platform. This individual will partner closely with Commercial Relationship Managers to deliver customized treasury and cash-management solutions to new and existing commercial clients.

The Treasury Management Sales Officer will serve as a trusted advisor to Middle Market businesses, helping clients improve liquidity, streamline payment and receivables processes, strengthen fraud controls, and enhance overall working-capital efficiency. This role will be responsible for driving treasury product adoption, deepening commercial relationships, and contributing to deposit growth and overall client profitability.

The ideal candidate will bring a strong combination of treasury expertise, commercial acumen, consultative sales ability, and experience working collaboratively with commercial banking teams.

Key Responsibilities

  • Partner with Middle Market Relationship Managers to identify, develop, and win treasury management opportunities with prospective and existing commercial clients.
  • Lead treasury sales conversations and conduct discovery to understand clients' cash-flow cycles, operating needs, payment processes, receivables, liquidity requirements, and fraud-risk concerns.
  • Develop customized treasury management solutions using a broad suite of commercial banking products and services.
  • Drive new treasury revenue, deposit growth, product penetration, and overall relationship profitability.
  • Support commercial banking teams in new-business development, client prospecting, relationship expansion, and retention efforts.
  • Present treasury solutions to business owners, CFOs, controllers, treasury professionals, and other senior financial decision-makers.
  • Serve as the treasury subject-matter expert throughout the sales process, coordinating with Relationship Managers, Treasury Implementation, Product, Operations, and other internal partners.
  • Identify opportunities to improve clients' cash positioning, payment efficiency, receivables processes, liquidity management, and fraud prevention.
  • Maintain an active sales pipeline and manage opportunities from initial discovery through proposal, closing, and transition to implementation.
  • Participate in joint client calls, prospect meetings, industry events, and other business-development activities.
  • Stay current on treasury products, payment trends, regulatory developments, competitive offerings, and evolving client needs.
  • Ensure a high-quality client experience while maintaining appropriate risk, compliance, and operational standards.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Finance, Accounting, Economics, or a related field preferred.
  • Approximately 5+ years of treasury management, cash management, commercial banking, or related financial-services experience.
  • Demonstrated success in a consultative, revenue-generating treasury sales role.
  • Experience supporting Middle Market commercial clients and partnering with Commercial Relationship Managers.
  • Strong knowledge of commercial treasury products and services, including:
    • Commercial deposits and liquidity solutions
    • ACH and electronic payments
    • Wire transfer services
    • Remote deposit capture and receivables solutions
    • Lockbox and payment-processing services
    • Commercial card solutions
    • Account analysis and earnings-credit structures
    • Fraud prevention and payment-security tools
  • Ability to understand complex client operating models and translate treasury capabilities into practical business solutions.
  • Proven ability to build relationships with senior financial executives and influence key decision-makers.
  • Strong presentation, communication, organization, and pipeline-management skills.
  • Ability to work effectively in a collaborative, team-oriented commercial banking environment.

Ideal Candidate Profile

The ideal candidate is a proactive treasury sales professional who combines strong technical knowledge with a relationship-driven, consultative approach. This individual should be comfortable working alongside commercial bankers while also taking ownership of treasury opportunities and contributing directly to business development.

Experience supporting Middle Market companies, navigating complex client needs, and partnering with commercial banking teams to win and deepen relationships will be highly valued.
