Job description

Description
The Department of Management at the McCombs School of Business at The University of Texas at Austin is hiring a postdoctoral fellow to join our department in the fall of 2021. This two-year fellowship (with an option for a third year) is designed to support the academic career launch of candidates. The postdoc will conduct independent research and collaborate on research projects with faculty and PhD students. The ideal candidate will have a PhD in social or organizational psychology or organizational behavior, be proficient with experimental and field methodologies, and have strong knowledge of statistics, including multilevel modeling and experience analyzing datasets (e.g., longitudinal surveys, field experiments, online data, etc.). The position will involve substantial input on the development of projects and co-authored work with faculty. It will also involve some work coordinating existing research projects, including working with doctoral students and research assistants.
Additionally, the postdoc work with current faculty to develop and then teach a new class on diversity and leading a multicultural workforce for the undergraduate program. This is a brand new course that has the potential to be a flagship core class for the undergraduate program.
Current members of the Department of Management are Professors Caroline Bartel, Ethan Burris (Department Chair), John Butler, Janet Dukerich, David Harrison, and Luis Martins; Associate Professors Andrew Henderson, Francisco Polidoro, Ram Ranganathan, and PK Toh; and Assistant Professors Shiva Agarwal, Bukky Akinsanmi, Andrew Brodsky, Steven Gray, Paul Green, Insiya Hussain, and Shefali Patil.
Qualifications
The ideal candidates for our faculty positions must demonstrate an ability to do high quality research that will have a major impact on the field of management. Candidates must also be able to teach successfully at the undergraduate level. Masters Degree in psychology, organizational behavior or related is required; PhD degree is preferred (completed by Sept 1, 2021).
