Job Title: CT Technologist

Location: Main Hospital - New Brunswick

Department: Cat Scan

Role Overview

The CT Technologist is essential to patient care and diagnostic processes. Working under the guidance of a certified radiologist, this position requires a significant degree of autonomy. Responsibilities include preparing patients, administering contrast agents, ensuring radiation safety, and producing high-quality diagnostic images.

Key Responsibilities
  • Evaluate patients' physical conditions, age, and suspected conditions to determine appropriate techniques.
  • Assist the radiologist with specific radiographic procedures.
  • Accurately label images with time and patient positioning.
  • Ensure patient comfort and well-being, both physically and mentally, throughout the examination.
  • Maintain adequate supplies in the examination room before procedures commence.
  • Explain procedures to patients, keeping them informed of progress, and assist with transfers on and off the examination table.
  • Monitor equipment functionality and report any issues to the supervisor.
  • Prepare the examination room prior to patient entry and clean it afterward.
  • Utilize the Radiology Information System effectively to manage patient cases.
  • Apply knowledge of growth and development principles to meet the specific needs of patients based on their age.

Qualifications for Consideration
  • Graduation from an AMA-accredited School of Radiologic Technology.
  • Certification from the American Registry of Radiologic Technology.
  • CT Certification is required.
  • A valid New Jersey License is mandatory.
  • Prior experience in CT is essential.
  • Current BLS Heart Saver/Health Care Provider certification from the American Heart Association is required.
