Job Description

Turner & Townsendis looking for anย Associate Directorย ofย Project Managementย to join our team. The Associate Director of Project Management will be a member of the management team and will primarily be responsible to support the Director of Project Management in driving growth and profitability of the business unit through leadership, new business development, clientย managementย and service delivery.ย 

Responsibilities:ย ย 

  • Support the Director of Project Management in managing new and existing client relationships, driving new revenue through the generation of new work and contract renewals on existing accounts.ย 
  • Lead bid teams and run proposal generation efforts in concert with the business generation and senior management teams.ย 
  • Attendingย client interviews to present our service offerings.ย 
  • Support the Director of PMย byย interviewing prospective candidates.ย 
  • Provide weekly updatesย regardingย the status of projects, initiatives, and staffing, and whereย appropriate, highlighting issues of concern, and/or conflict.ย 
  • Provide effective line management for the staff members assigned toย you,ย including coaching andย mentoring,ย as necessary toย assistย them in achieving professional and career growthย objectives.ย 
  • Financial Management-Utilize industry standard spreadsheets and accounting tools to track the ongoing margin levels, monthly fee/resource forecasts for eachย commissionย and financial reports.ย 
  • Ensure client invoices areย accurateย and issued onย a timelyย basis.ย Following upย on accounts receivablesย 
  • Identifyย and act upon cross-selling opportunities. Work with Senior Management team to develop strategies which promote Turner & Townsend across the U.S.ย 
  • Develop new business opportunities with existing and new Turner & Townsend clients and drive theย client'sย diversification agenda.ย 
  • Prepare and deliver client presentations on topics of relevant experience and knowledge and/or partner with other team members to generate new business.ย 
  • Attend relevant networking events and promotional opportunities.ย 
  • Leadership of small project management team responsible for planning and executing infrastructure projects in and around corporate campus (e.g. additions and improvements to utilities, roadways, bike paths, intersections, transit, etc.)ย 
  • Program management of neighbourhood portfolio of infrastructure projects including oversight of project managers from other companies delivering projects within the district.ย 
  • Liaison with municipal authorities havingย jurisdictionย over infrastructure projectsย 
  • SOX control responsibilities may be part of this role, which are to be adhered to where applicable.ย 
Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in construction management,ย architecture,ย engineeringย or field related to construction.ย 
  • A graduateย degree in construction management, architecture, or engineering is preferred.ย 
  • Minimum 8 years of relevant experience working in aย projectย management role in the construction industry.ย 
  • Experience managing client accounts effectively and efficiently.ย 
  • Experience managing teams of individual project managers andย supportingย staff.ย 
  • Relevantย consulting experience.ย 
  • Strong knowledge of local construction marketย 
  • Strong understanding of all aspects of the construction project life cycle.ย 
  • Ability to develop strong relationships with internal team members,ย clients,ย and cross-functional team members.ย 
  • Business development experience with existing and new clients, including cross-selling opportunities.ย 
  • Relevant technical and leadership experience overseeing major construction projects or programs.ย 
  • Demonstrates excellent presentation, verbal, written, organizational and communication skills.ย
