Job description

Reports to: Senior Director, Strategic Corporate Partnerships
FLSA designation: Non-Exempt
Internship Duration: Mid-January post-Arnold Palmer Invitational
The Arnold Palmer Invitational Partnership Sales & Service Intern will play a vital role in supporting the successful execution of one of professional golf's most iconic events. This position will provide a valuable hands-on experience with tournament sponsor fulfillment, hospitality planning, ticketing, and sponsor support.
The intern will work closely with the Arnold Palmer Invitational team to assist with pre-tournament preparation, tournament week execution, and post-event responsibilities. The Partnership Sales/Service Intern will gain real-world experience in sports event management while contributing to the delivery of an exceptional experience for our corporate partners.
Primary Responsibilities (Including but not limited to)
Partnership Sales/Service Support:
  • Serve as ticket support for Corporate Partners - fulfill, track, process partner requests
  • Track sponsor credential needs, coordinate credential production, and distribute credentials as needed
  • Assist with gifting for VIPs, sponsors, vendors, etc.
  • Manage Partner invoices and timely follow up
  • Assist with Partner asset fulfillment
  • Assist with Corporate Hospitality pre-event communication plan (i.e. distribute planning guides, menus, ticketing information, licensing guide etc.)
  • Assist tournament staff as needed in the execution of special events or general operational needs
  • Inventory Hospitality wristbands and lanyards, and manage daily distribution and changeovers across all hospitality locations
  • Capture photos to document sponsor activations, hospitality spaces, and tournament operations
  • Deliver Partner collateral daily to assigned hospitality areas
  • Coordinate and assist with daily player visits to sponsor hospitality areas
  • Co-manage the Honorary Observer Program and partner fulfillment, communication plan
  • Primary tournament week operational liaison for API Official/Promotional Partners
  • Ensure day-to-day on-site presentation (branding, appearance) adheres to agreed upon planning (concession stands, miscellaneous signage, etc.)
  • Monitor hospitality venues to ensure sponsor branding, signage, and venue presentation meet contractual requirements and tournament standards
  • Post-tournament
    • Assist with post-event partner recaps, shipments
    • Debrief with tournament staff and provide recap and key learnings from tournament week
    • Compile a comprehensive tournament recap highlighting key learnings, best practices

Qualifications and Characteristics Required
The individual must possess the following knowledge, skills and abilities and be able to explain and demonstrate that he or she can perform the essential functions of the job without reasonable accommodation:
  • Area of college study preference: Sports Management, Business, Event/Hospitality management
  • Microsoft Office software and general office administration tools and equipment
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team environment.
  • Ability to follow instructions and complete assigned tasks in a timely manner
  • Possess strong organizational skills, exhibit attention to detail
  • Ability to handle multiple projects and provide various accurate reports on a timely basis
  • Ability to work a flexible work schedule

Physical/Mental Requirements
  • Must be able to lift/push/pull up to 30 lbs.
  • Must be able to endure long periods of standing, sitting and walking
  • Mental demands include learning, thinking, concentration and the ability to work under pressure, particularly during busy times or for special events
