These images are used by radiologists to detect and diagnose breast diseases, such as cancer. Mammography Techs ensure patient comfort, maintain equipment, and follow strict safety protocols to minimize radiation exposure. They also play a crucial role in supporting patients through what can be a stressful procedure by explaining the process and answering questions.

Mammography Techs often encounter patients who are anxious or uncomfortable due to the nature of the procedure. Managing patient anxiety while ensuring accurate imaging can be challenging. Techs can address this by clearly explaining each step, maintaining a calm and empathetic demeanor, and employing gentle positioning techniques to minimize discomfort. Building trust and maintaining professionalism helps create a supportive environment for patients, which is crucial for both patient satisfaction and high-quality diagnostic results.
