Job description
Welcome to Des Moines, a city that thrives on spirit and community, where you can feel the pulse of innovation and warmth in the atmosphere. This captivating locale is not just a hub of cultural experiences and beautiful landscapes; it's an ideal setting for professionals seeking a sense of purpose in their careers. As an Imaging Technologist, you can find yourself in a role that not only emphasizes technical excellence but also nurtures the human connection that is critical in healthcare.
Here, you'll be embraced by a community that values the art of healing and the science of imaging. Your role as an essential part of the healthcare team will allow you to blend your technical prowess with unwavering compassion. Every scan you perform contributes directly to patient care - from capturing vital images that lead to life-changing treatments to offering a comforting presence when it is needed most. Your contributions will be foundational, and we want you to thrive in this supportive environment.
Key Responsibilities You Will Own
- Utilize advanced radiography and CT techniques to produce high-standard diagnostic images for healthcare professionals' reviews
- Engage with radiologists and the healthcare team to ensure accuracy in diagnoses
- Effectively position patients and fine-tune equipment settings for optimal imaging outcomes
- Adhere to radiation safety protocols for the well-being of both patients and colleagues
- Maintain meticulous records, including tracking imaging sessions and equipment upkeep
- Deliver compassionate care to patients throughout their imaging experiences
- Contribute to maintaining a safe, organized, and efficient imaging workspace
- Associate's Degree in Radiologic Technology is mandatory; a Bachelor's Degree is an asset
- Completion of an accredited radiology training program
- ARRT credentials (CT and/or Radiography) are required
- Current BLS certification or the ability to secure it within 90 days of onboarding
- Expertise in diagnostic imaging protocols and adherence to safety guidelines
- Exceptional communication abilities with patients and interdisciplinary teams
- Adeptness at navigating a high-paced environment with swift adaptations to changes
- Detail-focused approach paired with a strong sense of responsibility
- Comfort with technology, including PACS, RIS, and modern imaging applications
- A well-rounded benefits package featuring comprehensive medical, dental, and vision plans
- Generous PTO policies and flexible scheduling to support work-life balance
- Access to ongoing education and professional development opportunities specific to imaging
- Opportunities for career progression within imaging and training in additional modalities
- An encouraging workplace culture centered around shared values and team support
- 100% on-site collaborative work experience in a clinical setting
The Impact of Your Role: More Than Just Imaging
Your work transcends mere imaging; it embodies the essence of being seen and heard. Whether it's a young patient apprehensive about a scan or a thoughtful conversation with a caring elder, your presence provides the reassurance that makes a significant difference during vulnerable moments. You become a pivotal part of their journey, often without needing to utter a word.
Moreover, you'll be supported by a team that values collaboration and respect-a community that recognizes and celebrates your contributions. Within this imaging suite, you'll find camaraderie driven by a common purpose, where excellence is not just a goal but a culture. You'll be entrusted to operate with independence while knowing that support is never far away. This is healthcare at its finest: compassionate, professional, and infused with kindness.
