Job Description

As a Security Officer Mall Patrol Driver in Irvine, CA, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Retail/Malls, and more. Join Allied Universal as a driving patrol officer in a dynamic retail location, where you will monitor and patrol assigned areas, remain visible to help reduce security-related incidents, and support a welcoming environment for shoppers and tenants. You will combine strong communication, customer service, and mobile patrol responsibilities while reflecting our values of agility, reliability, innovation, teamwork, and integrity.


Position Type: Full Time / Graveyard Shift

Pay Rate: $22.00 / Hour

What You'll Do:

  • Provide customer service to visitors, tenants, and/or staff by carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and when appropriate, emergency response activities in a retail location.
  • Respond to incidents, disturbances, and/or critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, and report observations according to site protocols.
  • Conduct regular and random foot patrols throughout storefronts, common areas, parking areas, and perimeter access points to help to deter unwanted activity and/or identify unusual conditions.
  • Monitor entry and exit activity, assist with directions and general questions, and document security-related concerns, maintenance issues, and/or policy violations.
  • Support a professional presence throughout the property by communicating with management and/or local first responders when needed and following post orders for assigned areas.

Minimum Requirements:

  • At least 1 year of security-related experience is required.
  • A valid driver’s license is required in accordance with Allied Universal driver policy requirements.
  • Comfortable using a computer or tablet is preferred.
  • Customer service experience is preferred.
  • A guard card or license is preferred.
  • Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
  • Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
  • Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
  • A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.
