Woops Macarons Retail Sales Associates have the opportunity to spread the love with their enthusiasm, creativity, and positivity. This unique and challenging position combines selling food items with retail gift sales. One moment you'll be leading and guiding customers through a tasting journey of our macarons and restocking our display case, and the next moment you'll be assembling and wrapping a gift box for a special event. At the heart of it, this is a sales job, and our macarons require a creative sales approach to educate, motivate, inspire, and guide our customers with choosing and assembling unique gifting solutions and selecting items to enjoy. You are not just selling macarons and gifts, you are creating joy and selling an experience that our customers will remember and share with others.
Candidates must be comfortable with public speaking and be able to be in control of the conversation with customers by asking questions and overcoming objections while providing a welcoming and warm environment. This is a high-level sales job, and sales experience is required. You will think of yourself as a "Macaron Bartender".
We are looking for individuals who have both prior retail and food and beverage experience. Someone who is interested in creative design and passionate about decorative food items and edible arrangements would be ideal. In addition to making retail gifting sales, you'll be handling cash and using a point-of-sale system and continuously cleaning and maintaining the kiosk. You'll wear and maintain a company supplied uniform and come to work dressed for success. You must be comfortable working in a loud and busy retail mall environment. In addition to working at the kiosk location, you'll also have the opportunity to run a pop-up event cart at off-site places such as wedding and bridal fairs, festivals, business offices, catering functions, and social events, and you'll be interacting with both the corporate professional community and individuals and families, representing the Woops! brand and selling all of our wide range of artisan pastries, macarons, gifting ideas and solutions, and custom services.
This is a demanding position that provides you with challenging and creative work. At times you will be by yourself at the kiosk, or running the pop-up cart, and you must be self-motivated and be able to function and work independently. You will need to have the passion to treat this business as your own and take the initiative and make decisions to run the kiosk following the guidelines and procedures. The ideal candidate is self-disciplined, dependable and reliable, loves people and loves to smile, has positive vibes, can work both independently and as a team, and is passionate and takes pride in their work. In addition, we are looking for individuals who are interested in advancement opportunities, as we will be looking to promote from within for shift leaders, and event and store managers. Woops! is a vibrant and innovative company that believes desserts are special. We debuted in 2012 with the mission of spreading the joy of French macarons with a boutique macaron pop-up shop in the heart of New York City, at the Holiday Shops at Bryant Park. Our products were immediately and joyfully received, and thus, we began our journey to share our delicious treats through an array of locations.
Building on the momentum and popularity of Bryant Park, we soon opened our boutique kiosks in major malls throughout the Northeast. The mall management teams were captivated by the Woops! aesthetic and unprecedented design, and shoppers continued to indulge with delight in our products.
As it became clear that Woops! macarons were unmistakably delicious, we expanded Woops! to include a full cafe experience (Woops! Bakeshops) that showcases not only our macarons but also an array of over 30 freshly-baked artisanal pastries and coffee drinks from around the world. To date, Woops! has 50 corporate owned or affiliated locations and is expanding throughout the United States.
This franchise is independently owned and operated by a franchisee. Your application will go directly to the franchisee, and all hiring decisions will be made by the management of this franchisee. All inquiries about employment at this franchisee should be made directly to the franchise location, and not to Woops! Corporate.
