Job description

Express Employment Professionals is working with a local manufacturing company and is looking to hire a tool and die maker.

Job Title: Tool and Die Maker

Wages and hours: $25-$30 per hour based on experience, Mon-Thur 5A-3:30P

Job Duties:

•Proficiency using various hand and machine tools including but not limited to Mill, Lathe, Drill Press, Grinders, and various Saws to preform essential duties such as milling, drilling, reaming, countersinking, tapping, counterboring surface grinding, and sawing

•Set-up, program, operate, and upkeep CNC equipment

•Perform ruling and re-ruling of steel rule dies using both automated and manual bending equipment, disc sander, and surface grinder operations when necessary

•Determine which type(s) of tooling are required for a part profile and substrates. Layout or set-up new piercing or steel rule die constructions.

•Verify accurate part dimensions are in tolerance using micrometers, dial calipers, MicroVu, and other measuring equipment such as: indicators, gage blocks, gage pins.

•Troubleshoot and repair existing tooling when necessary

•Maintain an orderly, clutter free, and clean work area

•Understand equipment and techniques used to heat treat tool steels

QUALIFICATIONS:

•A high school diploma/HSED/GED.

•3-5 years of work experience as a tool and die maker

•Attention to detail and strong people skills.

•Computer literate and competent with Microsoft Office Suite
