Job Title: Retail Agent - Harry Potter™: A Hogwarts Express Adventure 

Division/Department: Rail Events Production/Front of House

Reports To: Front of House & Business Manager

Type of position: Non-Exempt/Hourly

Employee Classification: Seasonal

Compensation: $20.00/hour

Job Summary

Retail Agents collaborate with Front of House and Business Managers in partnership with the Retail Supervisor to support seamless retail operations. Serving as a primary point of contact, they create a welcoming and memorable first impression for every guest. They deliver outstanding customer service while ensuring efficient daily operations, accurate transactions, and consistent adherence to visual merchandising standards. Success in this role requires a positive attitude, effective communication skills, and the ability to remain organized, adaptable, and responsive in a dynamic, fast-paced, guest-focused environment.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

Greet guests as they enter the retail space, offering a warm, welcoming presence while assisting with questions, purchases, and overall service needs

Maintain a clean, organized, and visually appealing store environment that reflects the immersive experience

Serve as a knowledgeable point of contact for guests seeking information about merchandise or the event

Support merchandising efforts, including product displays, restocking, and ensuring all retail locations are properly restocked

Learn and operate the point-of-sale (POS) system to process transactions accurately and efficiently

Collaborate with the full event team to foster a positive, engaging, and enjoyable atmosphere for both guests and staff

Assist with daily opening procedures, as well as closing tasks to reset and prepare for the next event day

 Additional duties as needed

Qualifications

Previous experience in retail sales or customer service is preferred

Strong collaborator with an elevated level of reliability, organization and accountability

Effective communication skills with the ability to engage confidently with guests and team members

Proven commitment to delivering exceptional guest focused service and creating memorable experiences

Cash handling experience a plus

Basic computer proficiency: familiarity with point-of-sale (POS) systems is a plus

Possess a friendly, well-spoken manner in personal communications

Work Environment

Majority of work is performed onsite in an event space setting

Varied schedule requiring evenings, weekends, and overtime

Varying temperatures and weather conditions; both indoor and outdoor

Able to stand and walk on uneven or unsteady surfaces aboard a moving train

Time spent in and around active railroad yard(s)

With a total cast and crew of 40-50 people onsite every day and the possibility of over 2,000 guests, our days can be fast paced but rewarding and fun. With such a fast-paced environment, the team at Rail Events Productions takes care to properly support and teach everyone the best ways to accomplish their jobs. Qualifications
