Valley Hope has an exciting opportunity for a Major Gifts Coordinator to join our Valley Hope Foundation team! This position will be based out of our offices located in Norton, KS, Overland Park, KS or Denver, CO.

EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE:
Required:
  • Associate degree
  • Two (2) years of work experience with an emphasis on Business Administration or Behavioral Health related field
  • Unrestricted Driver's License

Preferred:
  • Bachelor's Degree with an emphasis in Business Administration, Marketing, or Behavioral Health related field
  • Two (2) years fundraising work experience for a non-profit organization including major gift solicitation.

  • Starting salary range $52,688 - $60,000 (based on experience & education)

JOB SUMMARY:
  • The Major Gifts Coordinator is responsible for planning, coordinating, and implementing the major gift program and planned giving program to meet the organization's fundraising goals.
  • In partnership with the Foundation Executive Director, leads the effort to complete solicitations for gifts and pledges from individuals, businesses, foundations, and trusts.
  • Manages and maintains a portfolio of prospective and individual donors to cultivate, solicit, appreciate, and steward within a geographical area.
  • Responsible for growing and developing relationships with major gift donors.
  • Responsible for developing written communication materials for individuals, businesses, foundations, and trusts.
  • Travels to engage major gift prospects, cultivation, solicitation, appreciation, and stewardship activities.
  • Develops and implements individualized fundraising cycle strategies for major gift prospects and donors.
  • Records and maintains information related to major gift donors and major gifts prospects.
  • Facilitate donor movement through the fundraising cycle of identification, qualification, cultivation, solicitation, appreciation, and stewardship.
  • Ensures appropriate donor appreciation and recognition activities are completed in a timely and thoughtful manner to foster relationships with major gift donors.
  • Works collaboratively with the Foundation Executive Director to manage tracking and engagement of major gift donors.
  • Works to understand and embrace organization's mission and vision of service to its clients and it's programs and initiatives provided by the organization.
  • Identifies opportunities to network with donors and prospects.
  • Maintains current working knowledge of Valley Hope Foundation fundraising practices. Report concerns and recommendations to supervisor.
  • Identify and communicates knowledge of any new local, state or federal fundraising regulatory requirements changes aware of or information that may impact Valley Hope fundraising policies and processes.
  • Be a positive ambassador to Valley Hope and the services we provide.
  • Assist Grant Manager with grant writing and submission.
  • Back up to the Administrative Assistant as needed.
  • Other tasks as delegated per Supervisor.
  • Adheres to Valley Hope's clinical philosophies, policies, and procedures as well as any other regulating bodies to ensure quality patient care and compliance.
  • Participates in all assigned staff meetings, staff development, and training as required.
  • Interacts and communicates with others (patients, co-workers, management, clients, and vendors) in a professional and tactful manner including treating them with respect and consideration regardless of their status or position.

WORK ENVIRONMENT:
  • Office setting with traditional hours; able to work overtime to the extent necessary.
  • Sitting for extended periods of time.
  • Able to work at a rapid pace for long periods of time (typically no longer than 8 hours).
  • Able to push, pull, pull up, bend at the knees and waist, twist body at the waist, raise and hold arms overhead, turn head-neck-shoulders as needed, grasp other items with hands, for either extended periods of time or many times throughout the workday.
