The Account Manager is responsible for developing and maintaining customer accounts. The Account Manager manages the total sales process toward building and supporting strong customer relationships. This includes frequent customer contact, leading cost changes, managing customer bids, and driving the sell-in of new items. Additional responsibilities include preparing sales reports, managing customer bookings, building an accurate annual budget, developing promotions when needed, addressing short payments, and coordinating internally with customer service, inventory, traffic, technical services, and credit. Essential Functions: Manage assigned accounts toward building strong lasting customer relationships Quoting and maintaining accurate price lists Develop an accurate pack plan and budget for each customer Ensure that customers are shipping against their pack plan Prepare a variety of status reports as required Promptly resolve deductions (short payments) Attend and participate in various trade shows Identify potential sales opportunities Stay informed on competition and current industry trends Other duties as required or assigned Qualifications: Must be available & willing to travel to customer locations Day-to-day management of all assigned customer accounts Strong sales, presentation, organization and communication skills Accurately forecast & track sales Must be able to determine customer requirements Bachelor's degree in sales & marketing preferred or 5 years of industry experience Sales skills are critical toward the relational foundations required History or ability to develop and execute overall account management, ensuring strategic plans are met History or ability to understand and effectively work with different departments within the company Wage range based on skills, abilities and experience from $110k - $120k annual salary Seneca Foods Corporation is committed to providing equal opportunity for all, through a positive and continuing affirmative action program.
