A Day in the Life

You arrive to a climate-controlled distribution center humming with activity. Your first stop is the maintenance board: preventive maintenance tasks are queued, spare parts stock is updated, and custodial routes are set. You check overnight logs—no issues with OSHA standards or climate control—and meet with cross-functional partners to align on safety and improvement priorities. By midday, you’re coaching a tech through a motor starter diagnosis, reviewing evacuation procedures, and updating the hazardous materials log. In the afternoon, you finalize inputs for the capital budget, share best practices with peers at other CFCs, and step in for hands-on mechanical or electrical repairs as needed. Before sign-off, you reinforce safe work practices, recognize team contributions to our Safety Culture, and plan the next round of continuous improvement actions.

What You’ll Lead and Do
  • Oversee, plan, and coordinate building and equipment maintenance to sustain top service levels.
  • Create and manage preventive maintenance programs for new and existing assets.
  • Direct daily custodial operations.
  • Control spare parts inventory for facility equipment.
  • Exchange best practices with other Customer Fulfillment Centers (CFCs).
  • Champion safe work methods; ensure OSHA compliance and effective climate control.
  • Collaborate across departments by serving on cross-functional teams.
  • Maintain hazardous materials logs and ensure evacuation plans are current.
  • Engage associates in our Safety Culture and drive risk mitigation using assessment tools.
  • Promote MSC’s culture and mission while handling hiring, performance reviews, development, and, when necessary, terminations per the MSC Code of Conduct.
  • Contribute to operating expense and capital budgeting for facility equipment.
  • Perform pest removal as needed.
  • Tackle electrical and mechanical repairs when required.
  • Support warehouse operations; associates may be temporarily reassigned to meet customer needs.
  • Join special projects and take on additional duties as assigned.

Education & Experience
  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • 3+ years of related experience required.
Skills
  • Basic computer literacy.
  • Expertise in industrial electrical systems including motors, starters, and switchgear.
  • Strong mechanical aptitude with bearings, shafts, speed reducers, sprinkler and similar systems.
  • Flexible availability, including on-call status.
  • Ability to convey technical guidance to maintenance teams.
  • Clear written and verbal communication.
  • HVAC knowledge.
  • Deep familiarity with OSHA regulations.
  • Proficiency in supervisory leadership, troubleshooting industrial automation equipment, industrial electrical systems, and maintenance.

Compensation & Benefits

Compensation starting at $51,800 - $77,000 depending on candidate location and experience.

The salary range represented is based on similar roles in comparable industries, and the cost of labor in respective cities. Actual compensation is based on the candidate's relevant experience, education requirements and peer pay equity. The Company reserves the right to modify the range as market conditions change.
