Job description

MAINTENANCE CLERK

 

Summary

The Maintenance Clerk is responsible for assisting the Maintenance Department by ensuring that all necessary equipment and information is readily available.

Essential Functions

  • Works with Maintenance Manager, Supervisors and Mechanics to order parts and services as needed via the AS400 and purchasing department by reviewing data to order parts/inventory and services. Follows up to get quotes and information to ensure that the 3 shifts have the necessary parts and services as needed to do their jobs.
  • Coordinates orders with the Buyer, MRO and work with that position to maintain an up to date status of all parts and services ordered.
  • Reviews the order, applies knowledge and enters data according to mechanical knowledge and mechanic information, outside contractor services that may be needed and spare parts inventory..
  • Assists in selecting and then work closely with others to coordinate the implementation of a Parts Program for Maintenance.  Train others as required.
  • Maintain records spreadsheets to record and update the status of what has been done. Prints the data to verify accuracy of the entry and information.
  • Applies knowledge of parts to assist in coordinating Maintenance efforts and pms.
  • Verifies all relevant information in the system.
  • Communicates data effectively with all parties, working closely with Purchasing and the Purchasing System.
  • Helps to receive parts into the maintenance shop and maintains accurate records of incoming materials
  • Perform other duties as assigned by supervisor.

Qualifications

  • 1 year minimum of Maintenance Mechanic Administrative and Buying experience and computer skills.
  • High School or GED equivalent with some Technical Training or related training or experience.
  • Ability to enter data and to work with all the Microsoft Programs.
  • A thorough understanding of Maintenance jargon is necessary and experience in Maintenance Inventory systems is a plus
  • must have a valid driver’s license

Work Environment

  • General office setting.
