Job description

Hanover Foods Corporation - Centre Hall, PA, is currently seeking an experienced Maintenance Mechanic. The Maintenance Mechanic is responsible to the Mechanic with whom is assigned to carry out routine procedures and learn the skills of the maintenance craft. The qualified candidate will have the ability to attend work predictably, regularly and be punctual; have the ability to read and understand documents, drawings, and instructions; work cooperatively with others, perform several tasks at once, possess the ability to follow instruction, etc.

This 2nd Shift position includes a $0.50 Shift Differential when working during the hours of 3pm - 11pm. Hanover Foods Corporation offers a competitive rate of pay and comprehensive benefits package such as medical, dental, prescription drug, and 401(k).

The duties listed below are representative of the types of responsibilities required for the role. Additional tasks may be assigned as needed to meet the needs of the organization:

  • Performs and/or assists on projects under close supervision.
  • Performs minor repairs under close supervision.
  • Responsible for following food safety, legality and quality policies and procedures within the scope of the job responsibilities such as but not limited to: GMP’s, HACCP, food safety, product quality, food security, plant security, etc.
  • Adheres to common safety practices and procedures, including the wearing of PPEs as required.
  • Keeps work area neat and orderly according to good housekeeping practices.
  • Performs other duties as assigned by the Maintenance Manager.
  •  Greases and oils plant equipment under close supervision.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

  • Strong mechanical skills.
  • Position requires Heavy Physical exertion.
  • The ability to attend work predictably and regularly and to be punctual.
  • The ability to read and understand documents, drawings, and instructions (whether presented in written, oral, diagram or schedule form).
  • The ability to work with mathematical concepts and to apply concepts to practical situations.
  • The ability to work cooperatively with others.
  • The ability to deal politely and professionally with customers and coworkers.
  • The ability to perform several tasks at once.
  • The ability to follow direction or instruction.
  • The ability to use a computer to communicate, create, and access information.
