Job Title: Maintenance Technician

Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following:

  • Maintain a safe, clean and organized work environment
  • Identify and report safety concerns to the Maintenance Manager
  • Report equipment, component and service needs to Maintenance Manager
  • Perform maintenance activities as assigned by the Maintenance Manager
  • Prioritize safety needs and unexpected downtime reported throughout the plant and assure timely resolution
  • Maintain a basic knowledge of all equipment operations
  • Diagnose and correct hydraulic, electrical and PLC issues on extrusion presses and other equipment
  • Perform routine preventive maintenance
  • Maintain a good attendance record
  • Other Duties as assigned

Qualifications:

  • Self-driven with a strong ability to work with others, good communication in a team environment as well as critical thinking skills. Strong mechanical aptitude and knowledge of hydraulics, PLC controls, various electrical components and gas-powered ovens and furnaces.

Preferred Qualification:

  • Strong quality control background in the aluminum manufacturing industry.

Education and/or Experience: High School diploma preferred, 2 years in industrial maintenance.

Language/Communication Skills:

  • English speaking is required, bilingual is ideal.
  • Must have the ability to effectively communicate and work with team members in a bilingual environment (with the use of an interpreter as needed).
  • Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.

Mathematical Skills: Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions and decimals.

Computer Skills: Basic computer skills with an ability to learn PLC programming and troubleshooting
