Job description

Position Summary:

Reporting to the Maintenance & Facilities Manager, this position is responsible for installing, maintaining, troubleshooting, and repairing manufacturing equipment and facility systems to ensure maximum production efficiency and equipment reliability. The Millwright will work closely with production, engineering, and maintenance personnel to support continuous improvement initiatives and minimize downtime.

  • Perform preventative, predictive, and corrective maintenance on production equipment and facility assets.
  • Troubleshoot mechanical, hydraulic, and pneumatic systems to identify and resolve equipment failures.
  • Install, align, dismantle, and move machinery and industrial equipment using appropriate tools and rigging techniques.
  • Read and interpret blueprints, mechanical drawings, schematics, and equipment manuals.
  • Inspect machinery and equipment to detect irregularities and potential failures.
  • Repair or replace defective components, bearings, motors, gearboxes, pumps, valves, and chains
  • Support equipment upgrades, modifications, and continuous improvement projects.
  • Collaborate with electricians and production personnel to ensure equipment reliability and operational efficiency.
  • Maintain accurate maintenance records, work orders, and preventative maintenance documentation.
  • Follow all company safety policies, lockout/tagout procedures, and regulatory requirements.
  • Participate in root cause analysis and corrective action initiatives for recurring equipment issues.
  • Assist with facility maintenance and special projects as required.

Required Qualifications:

  • Currently holds a valid 433-A Licence (Red Seal) in Ontario
  • 3+ years experience working in a manufacturing or industrial maintenance environment.
  • Strong Knowledge of mechanical, hydraulic, and pneumatic systems.
  • Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and manuals.
  • Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to work independently and within a team environment.
  • Excellent communication and organizational skills.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience in electrical troubleshooting and automated manufacturing equipment.
  • Experience with PLC-controlled systems and robotics.
  • Welding and fabrication experience.
  • Familiarity with CMMS (Computerized Maintenance Management Systems).
  • Forklift, boom lift, or scissor lift certification
