This is a 12 month position and is eligible for benefits. May require overtime. Pay is based on experience and ranges between $22.67 - $32.78.
Purpose
Ensure the high school building facilities and equipment are maintained by providing electrical, mechanical, plumbing and carpentry maintenance as needed. Provide preventative maintenance and repairs. Supervise the Assistant Maintenance Engineer and assign responsibilities accordingly.
Qualifications
Minimum of five years of experience in the field of general repairs, including at least two years of experience in one of the following areas: carpentry, plumbing, electrical repair and maintenance, HVAC repair, mechanical repair and painting. An equivalent combination of experience and training would be considered. Demonstrated mechanical aptitude. Demonstrated ability to supervise staff. Ability to work independently and with little or no supervision. Ability to do heavy lifting up to 100 pounds (a 50 pound lift test will be required). Ability to follow oral and written instructions with ability to communicate effectively with students, staff and the general public. Must be able to work in a team environment with the ability to provide guidance, instruction and training to staff. Knowledge and a good understanding of the IOSHA safety rules and standards is required. Must hold a valid motor vehicle operator's license. Requires the ability to work flexible and overtime hours.
