We are seeking an Industrial Maintenance Technician at our new melt facility at the Bakers Campus in Monroe, NC. In this position, you are part of a highly skilled team that is critical in supporting production and ensuring equipment is operational to consistently meet production goals and our customers' needs.

As a Maintenance Associate, you will inspect, troubleshoot, repair, replace, install, adjust, and maintain all mechanical equipment in the plant and perform scheduled preventative maintenance on equipment and troubleshoot machine malfunctions, determine the problem, and implement the repair. This position requires an understanding of mechanical, hydraulic, pneumatic, power transmission, and steam systems. Qualified candidates must be able to read and interpret drawings and blueprints proficiently and make necessary modifications.

This is a night shift position from 6:00 pm to 6:00 am, working on a rotating 2-2-3 schedule. You will work 2 days, have 2 days off, work 3 days; then 2 days off, work 2 days, then have 3 days off.

Additional Responsibilities

  • Plan, layout, and perform all required operations to install, maintain and repair a wide variety of plant equipment and accessories
  • Effectively troubleshoot using manuals, schematics, and diagramsto diagnose and eliminate problems as they arise
  • Safely install, maintain, and upgrade 3-phase motor controlsystems, and AC/DC circuits, possess an understanding of basic relay logic
  • Understand fluid power systems; troubleshoot, install, and repairpower units, valve operation, cylinders, motors, pumps
  • Perform basic fabrication by cutting and welding operations
  • Perform preventative maintenance on equipment using standard practices and procedures
  • Maintain work areas, tools, and equipment in a clean and orderlycondition
  • Follow all company and equipment safety guidelines and ethics rules
  • Maintain lift truck operator's license, main lift, and other material handling equipment

***Training will be conducted in the Monroe Remelt department and can be either on a day or night team. ***

Basic Qualifications

  • General HS Diploma / GED
  • At least two (2) years of trade school or equivalent experience in industrial mechanical or electrical is required
