Job description

POSITION SUMMARY

This unionized position repairs various machines and equipment throughout the production facility and performs general maintenance and repairs to the building and offices.ย  ย 

Due to the introduction of advanced technology, MCI is looking at bringing a portion of their maintenance in-house. We are seeking a Red Seal Electrician, Millwright, or Machinist to join the team. This position will be of interest to an individual seeking stable employment, an opportunity to have an impact on results, who is committed to continuous improvement and who is energized by high demand environments. This position is represented by the International Association of Machinists (IAM).


RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Must be able to read mechanical and electrical schematics.
  • Strong mechanical aptitude with knowledge of industrial machinery - laser and CNC machines, cranes, welding equipment, hydraulics, pneumatics and electrical.
  • Must have knowledge of air, power and hand tools.
  • Must be able to repair and maintain various industrial and electrical equipment and machinery.
  • Must be able to troubleshoot breakdowns.
  • Adhere to plant safety rules.
Requirements:
  • Must have electrical or mechanical certifications. Red Seal is considered an asset.
  • Experience within manufacturing/industrial environment with exposure to CNC equipment.
  • Experience with hydraulics, pneumatics and electrical.
  • Be physically fit, able to bend, twist, stretch, kneel, squat, push and pull, lift up to 50 lbs.
  • Be able to stand for extended periods, work with heights or in confined spaces.
  • Able to climb ladders, not scared of heights.
  • Able to manage multiple simultaneous demands in a fast-paced environment.
  • Related experience in manufacturing, Industrial Mechanics or Electrical Ticket is a definite asset.
  • Self-motivated with ability to work with minimal supervision as well as in a team environment.
