HVAC Technician Apprentice - JLL

You'll work as part of a collaborative facilities team, assisting with routine maintenance, repairs, and system diagnostics while building the foundation for a rewarding career in facilities management. What your day-to-day will look like:

  • Assist senior technicians with maintenance, repair, and troubleshooting of HVAC systems including air handlers, rooftop units, pumps, and related equipment

  • Perform routine preventive maintenance tasks such as filter changes, belt replacements, lubrication, and basic system inspections

  • Learn to diagnose mechanical and electrical issues under the guidance of experienced technicians, developing your technical troubleshooting skills

  • Support emergency service calls by helping to restore equipment to normal operation and minimize disruption to building occupants

  • Maintain accurate records of work performed, parts used, and equipment conditions using computerized maintenance management systems

  • Help ensure all work areas remain clean, organized, and compliant with safety protocols and regulations

  • Participate in training programs and professional development opportunities to expand your knowledge of HVAC systems and building operations

  • Lift up to 50 pounds, work at heights, climb ladders, and work in various environmental conditions

Required Qualifications:

  • High school diploma

  • At least 1 year of experience in commercial HVAC, building maintenance, or related mechanical trade

  • Valid driver's license

  • Basic understanding of HVAC principles, mechanical systems, and electrical fundamentals

  • Ability to use hand tools, power tools, and basic diagnostic equipment safely and effectively

  • Strong willingness to learn and take direction from senior technicians and supervisors

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Completion of an HVAC technical program, trade school certification, or apprenticeship

  • Valid EPA Section 608 certification (Type I or Type II minimum) or ability to obtain within 90 days of hire

  • Basic knowledge of building automation systems or willingness to learn

  • OSHA 10 safety certification

  • Experience with Microsoft Office, email, and mobile technology for work order management

  • Previous customer service experience in a facilities, hospitality, or service-oriented environment

  • Good communication skills and ability to work collaboratively as part of a team

Location:San Jose CA main location and once a week, visit another location in SJ,CA(aprox:20 min-commute)

Work Shift: M-F, 7am to 4pm,or to 8am-5pm

This position does not provide visa sponsorship. Candidates must be authorized to work in the United States without sponsorship.

Estimated compensation for this position:

65,400.00 - 82,500.00 USD per year

This range is an estimate and actual compensation may differ. Final compensation packages are determined by various considerations including but not limited to candidate qualifications, location, market conditions, and internal considerations.
