Salary Range: $37.00 To $42.00 Hourly

Brief Summary:

The Maintenance Supervisor supervises and trains electricians, electronic technicians, and millwrights in the plant
maintenance.

Responsibilities:

  • Supervise a crew of millwrights, electricians, and electronic technicians in the maintenance of all functions of the plant.
  • Works with maintenance personnel, operating personnel, and other personnel to analyze problems and to reduce operating down time.
  • Works closely with operating personnel to solve problems or improve operating equipment.
  • Observes the total plant equipment for proper operation and maintenance.
  • Attending schools, classes, meetings, or seminars recommended by or scheduled by management.
  • Understands and follows Company policies.
  • Recommend employees whose performance and skill are worthy.
  • Accept added responsibility and assignments from management which may not be listed in this position's job description.
  • Responsible for helping establish a preventative maintenance program and recommending spare parts necessary for proper operation of this facility.
  • Instructs electricians, electronic technicians, millwrights, and other personnel on mechanical and electrical safety procedures.
  • Orders and maintains adequate supplies, equipment, and tools.
  • Evaluates and submits evaluation of employees under direct supervision.
  • Submits reports concerning equipment condition if repairs or replacement are needed.
  • Investigates accidents, injuries and incidents involving those supervised or in the area of supervision and submits report covering these occurrences.
  • Disciplines employees who do not follow this facility's rules and regulations, violate safety rules or who do not perform job functions.
  • Schedules employees work and vacation hours and posts schedules.
  • Report unsolved problems or changes in equipment or method of operation to the Maintenance Manager or other management

Qualifications:

  • High School Diploma, OR Equivalency Certificate, (GED (General Education Degree))
  • Trade school or industrial apprenticeship in electric or electronic trades preferred
  • At least five (5) years' experience as journeyman millwright, electrician, or electronic technician.
  • Ability to operate an industrial system computer.
  • Working knowledge of personnel policies and laws pertaining to Workers' Compensation Insurance, OSHA (Occupational Safety and Health Act) requirements, environmental laws and practices and industrial relations.
  • Familiarity with industrial procurement policies and practices.
  • Technical ability in maintenance of production equipment associated with ERW pipe manufacture.
  • Extensive training, academic background and experience in engineering, welding, and other applicable technical disciplines.
  • Moderate PC Skills in Microsoft Applications, i.e., MS Word, Excel
  • Able to read, write, speak, and understand English sufficiently to follow job and safety requirements.

Physical Requirements:

  • While performing the duties of this job, the employee is required to stand; walk; use hands to fingers, hands to feel; reach with hands and arms; and talk and hear.
  • The employee frequently is required to climb, balance; stoop, kneel, crouch, crawl, and smell. The employee is occasionally required to sit.
  • The employee must regularly lift and/or move up to 25 pounds and frequently lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.
