Job Purpose

The Senior Software Developer Analyst (SDA) will work closely with people internal and external to the organization, applying advanced analysis and design techniques, expert business domain knowledge, and deep technical expertise in enterprise systems to solve complex business problems through effective information technology solutions. This role combines strong development capabilities with systems analysis expertise to support and enhance both mainframe and distributed environments, including IBM z/OS applications, Mobius View document management solutions (or comparable industry solutions), and U.PT (homegrown) mainframe applications. The position ensures operational stability, data integrity, regulatory compliance, and alignment with AHM IT architecture and security standards. The SDA provides production support, leads root cause analysis and troubleshooting efforts, contributes to system modernization initiatives, coordinates application installations and upgrades, collaborates with third-party vendors (including IBM and software providers), and ensures enterprise applications continue to meet evolving business, compliance, and operational requirements.

Key Accountabilities

Analyze, troubleshoot, and resolve production incidents across mainframe and web-based applications, including IBM MVS / zOS environments, U.PT (homegrown) mainframe application, Mobius View document management system, Windows Server platforms, and Apache Tomcat web servers. Develop, enhance, and maintain applications using JCL, COBOL, VSAM, REXX/clists, Dialog Manager, and related technologies. Create detailed technical specifications for system modifications, upgrades, and modernization initiatives. Support and administer enterprise applications (e.g., document management, compliance tools, contact management systems). Coordinate installation, configuration, and testing of mainframe and web applications, including vendor upgrades. Collaborate with Architects, DBAs, Infrastructure, QA, and Business teams to deliver integrated IT solutions. Generate ad-hoc queries, reports, and database updates to support business and compliance reporting needs. Provide user support, training, and how-to guidance; configure and maintain user access/security roles. Participate in vendor evaluation, coordination, and lifecycle management activities.

Qualifications, Experience, and Skills

Minimum education: A Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science / Data Science, Information Systems / MIS, Information Technology, Applied Mathematics or a related field of study and/or equivalent relevant professional experience in the industry.

Minimum Experience: At least 5 or more years of professional IT experience in enterprise application development and support, of which 3 or more years supporting IBM MVS / zOS mainframe environments.

Other Job-Specific Skills: Mainframe & Programming: Working knowledge of MVS/zOS, JCL, cataloged procedures COBOL programming experience (Assembler knowledge a plus) REXX/clists and Dialog Manager development VSM architecture knowledge Experience installing and supporting mainframe applications CI/CD using modern mainframe developer assist tools, e.g- IBM z Management Suite, IBM Omegamon Code repository - GitHub Web & Distributed Systems: Experience with Windows Server environments Apache Tomcat installation, configuration, and troubleshooting Web application deployment and testing Experience supporting document and compliance-related systems General Technical Skills: Strong SQL knowledge and ability to write ad-hoc queries Incident/problem management experience Understanding of SDLC and Agile methodologies Ability to read and interpret technical documentation and system architecture Soft Skills: Strong written and verbal communication skills Ability to work with business users at various organizational levels Analytical and problem-solving mindset Ability to work independently and within cross-functional teams Strong vendor coordination and collaboration skills

Highly desirables: Experience with Trade Compliance, Import/Export, Customs, or Regulatory Systems Experience supporting Governance, Risk, and Compliance platforms.
