Job Description:

Requirement Description This position is for a mainframe specialist with a broad skillset who can help ODOT manage, maintain and support ODOTâs z/OS LPAR and the applications that run on it. This includes CICS, TSO, Roscoe, AF Operator, CA Scheduler, CA Top Secret and IBM Omegamon. Skills should include the ability to manage mainframe printing with LRS VPS and VMCF, manage mainframe backups and restores, & manage and troubleshoot batch processing. Must be proficient in JCL and familiar with COBOL and REXX. Also, must be familiar with Open Systems side of z/OS and Unix/Linux.

ODOT has a goal to migrate applications off of the mainframe to the Windows/SQL platform. Toward this end, skills with Micro Focus Cobol and Powershell will be highly desirable, and familiarity with Python, though not a hard requirement, would also be desirable.

Experience

â Plan and manage network operating system upgrades.

â Actively participate in analyzing and evaluating emerging software and hardware

technologies/standards.

â Serve as a liaison between teams for network planning and connectivity.

â Develop appropriate functional and usability standards for the environments.

â Plan or assist in planning network environment, including supporting existing structure and enhancements.

â Plan and coordinate testing changes, upgrades and new and standard products,

ensuring systems will operate correctly in current and future environment.

â Anticipate, identify, track and resolve issues and risks affecting own work and work of the Application or Environment team. Develop contingency plans as necessary.

â Analyze the functional and/or technical impact of new product releases.

â Advanced scripting and programming skills, including languages that run on specified platform.

â Anticipate and resolve issues specific to the team.

â Determine time estimates and schedule for own work and resolve issues in a timely

manner.

â Identify and track issues, risks and action items.

â Identify opportunities for new and improved technologies/standards to be used in the organization.

â Identify, plan, and implement phase-out strategies for products and technologies.

â Plan and coordinate testing changes, upgrades and new products, ensuring systems will operate correctly in current and future environment

â Demonstrate expertise in teaching/conveying technical courses/concepts.

â Assist in setting architecture direction and knowledge sharing.

â Plan, organize, prioritize, and manage multiple work efforts the Application or Environment Teams.

â Develop appropriate work programs and use to effectively schedule tasks/assignments.

Mandatory Requirements/Time

5 plus years in mainframe experience
