DURATION: 12 MONTHS

Position Summary

  • The Mainframe Security Engineer will play a key role in executing day-to-day tactical project activities within the Information Security domain. This position involves detailed data analytics, mainframe security administration, and direct support of vulnerability management projects. The ideal candidate will possess deep technical expertise in mainframe security systems (ACF2, TSS, RACF) and strong familiarity with zSecure Audit.

Key Responsibilities

  • Execute tactical project activities, including data analysis, asset modeling, and project documentation.
  • Serve as a Mainframe Security Subject Matter Expert (SME) for vulnerability management initiatives.
  • Provide guidance on z/OS hardening, security controls, and vulnerability remediation.
  • Interface directly with client teams to provide training and resolve questions regarding home-grown vulnerability management tools.
  • Collaborate effectively between mainframe engineering and information security teams.
  • Utilize zSecure Audit for analysis, reporting, and compliance validation.
  • Apply z/OS ACF2/TSS/RACF STIGs in system hardening efforts.
  • Contribute to security consulting and penetration testing initiatives (preferred).
  • Demonstrate a proactive, problem-solving mindset with strong communication skills.

Required Skills & Experience

  • 7โ€“10 years of zSecure Audit experience.
  • Proven expertise in ACF2 or TSS Mainframe Security.
  • Hands-on experience leveraging z/OS ACF2/TSS/RACF STIGs for system hardening.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills.

Preferred Skills & Experience

  • 10+ years in z/OS ACF2 or TSS environments.
  • Exposure to Vulnerability Management tools and processes.
  • Familiarity with JIRA, Confluence, and SharePoint.
  • Background in z/OS security consulting or penetration testing.
