Job Description:
At Regions, the Technology Operations and Mainframe Operator supports the availability, reliability, and performance of enterprise and mainframe computing environments by executing routine computer operations and serving as a first-level responder to mainframe and infrastructure alerts. The role combines scheduled production processing with real-time monitoring and incident response in a 24x7 banking environment.
Primary Responsibilities

  • Monitors and operates mainframe and enterprise systems, including console operations and batch processing
  • Serves as first responder to mainframe and infrastructure alerts using monitoring dashboards
  • Executes and monitors mainframe and distributed batch jobs and distribute operational outputs
  • Maintains mainframe production documentation and operational records
  • Performs first-level troubleshooting and escalate incidents per defined procedures
  • Supports outage management activities including bridges and incident timelines
  • Ensures compliance with risk management programs, rules and regulations, and cybersecurity practices; identifies opportunities for and supports process improvements; applies disciplined change management practices
  • Works under clearly defined procedures
  • Works under close supervision
This position requires the tracking of time and is eligible for overtime for hours worked in excess of 40 per week under the Fair Labor Standards Act.
