The Impact you will have in this role:
The Systems Engineering family is responsible for the entire technical effort to evolve and verify solutions that satisfy client needs. The primary focus is centered on reducing risk and improving the efficiency, performance, stability, security, and quality of all systems and platforms. The Platform Hosting & Engineering role specializes in the development, implementation, and support of all distributed, mainframe, and network hosting services across the firm. Responsible for the installation, configuration, programming, and support of operating systems, complex networks, and distributed environments, deploying solutions to increase overall system reliability across the firm.
Your Primary Responsibilities
  • Design, manage, and optimize virtualized infrastructure platforms to ensure performance, availability, and scalability
  • Lead modernization initiatives, including transformation of legacy platforms into modern, cloud-aligned or hybrid architectures
  • Define and execute technology roadmaps that reduce technical debt and improve operational resilience
  • Establish and maintain end-to-end observability across infrastructure and applications, including metrics, logs, and traces
  • Enable proactive monitoring, alerting, and incident response to minimize service disruption
  • Partner with application, infrastructure, security, and operations teams to embed reliability and observability into system design
  • Support capacity planning, performance optimization, and disaster recovery strategies
  • Ensure platforms meet security, compliance, and regulatory requirements
  • Drive continuous improvement through automation, standardization, and operational insights
  • Perform design analysis, documentation, and planning for strategic IT initiatives/solutions
  • Provide technical design guidance and support to platform engineering teams
  • Engage external vendors when needed to review standard methodologies, architecture and design proposal and tackle sophisticated problems
  • Optimally engage in strategic goals for Private Cloud engineering, the department, and the organization
  • Create and update technical/architectural/strategic documentation in support of the Private Cloud infrastructure
  • Provide design and Senior engineering level escalation technical support to platform teams
  • Collaborate with other teams to develop automation strategies and deployment processes
  • Provide recommendations and follow-through on ways to improve the stability, security, efficiency, and scalability of the environment
  • Maintain and improve platform configurations to meet the demands and requirements of our customers

Qualifications:
  • Minimum of 8 years of related experience
  • Bachelor's degree preferred or equivalent experience

Talents Needed for Success:
  • Strong background in server virtualization (primarily VMware) planning and design
  • Experience modernizing legacy environments and implementing target-state architectures
  • Solid understanding of networking, automation and orchestration at an Enterprise level. Solid understanding networking (layer 2 and layer 3 connectivity) & storage technologies
  • Knowledge of monitoring, telemetry, and observability practices
  • Ability to translate business and operational needs into technical solutions
  • Strong background in Automation with respect to virtualization
  • Experience working across engineering, operations, and governance stakeholders
