As the automotive industry continues to evolve, Group 1 is investing in the people, technology, and operational excellence needed to shape what comes next. Our work is grounded in a simple belief, that a better experience for customers starts with an exemplary experience for employees.
At Group 1, our commitment is to keep finding smarter ways to serve our customers and support one another. We believe great careers are built in environments where people are trusted, challenged, and given room to grow. If you share our core values of integrity, transparency, professionalism, teamwork, and respect, you can get more with Group 1. More opportunity. More support. More ways to build a career that moves you forward.

Group 1 Automotive is hiring experienced Main Line Automotive Technicians across multiple Bob Howard dealership locations in Oklahoma City and Edmond.

This opportunity is built for skilled, bumpertobumper technicians who know diagnostics, drivability, electrical, suspension, brakes, engines, and transmissions—and take pride in doing the job right.

As a Main Line Technician, you’ll handle complex repairs and diagnostics in a highvolume, professional dealership environment with steady work, modern equipment, and a support team that understands what technicians need to succeed. We’re looking for techs who can think, diagnose, and execute—not just follow flowcharts.

Whether you’re a seasoned Master Technician or a highly skilled tech ready to level up, this role offers longterm career stability, manufacturer support, and the opportunity to grow as your skills and certifications grow.

If you’re tired of being capped, underpaid, or undersupported, this is your chance to work with a group that values technical skill and experience.

If you can fix it bumpertobumper and want to be taken seriously as a technician, this role is for you

  • Perform advanced diagnostics using professional scan tools and testing equipment
  • Independently manage assigned bay(s), repair orders, and workflow
  • Accurately document diagnostics, repair recommendations, and completed work
  • Collaborate with service advisors to explain repair needs and timelines
  • Maintain productivity and quality in a flatrate or performancebased environment
  • Adhere to shop safety procedures and maintain a clean, organized workspace

  • 3–5+ years of professional automotive repair experience
  • Proven ability to run your own bay independently
  • Strong diagnostic skills with minimal supervision
  • Solid understanding of:
    • Electrical systems
    • Engine and drivability diagnostics
    • Suspension, steering, brake, and HVAC systems
  • Experience performing major repairs in an OEM dealership setting
  • Own professionalgrade tools required for main line technician work
  • Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record
  • Master Technicians and advanced diagnostic techs are strongly encouraged to apply

Pay, Compensation & Benefits:

  • $40+ per flat hour for experienced Main Line Technicians
  • $50+ per flat hour for MasterLevel Technicians
  • Pay is based on experience, skill level, certifications, and performance
  • Certificationbased pay increases as you progress in your career
  • Highvolume dealerships providing consistent workflow
  • Earnings and flag hours may vary based on productivity, experience, and business needs. No earnings are guaranteed
  • Health, Dental, Vision, Life, and Disability Insurance
  • 401(k) Plan with Company Match
  • Paid Time Off (PTO)
  • Employee Stock Purchase Plan
  • Employee Vehicle Purchase Program
  • Paid, structured, selfpaced training programs
  • Manufacturer and Group 1 Automotive certification opportunities
  • Pinnacle Awards Program and recognition incentives
  • Professional shop environment with modern equipment and advancement opportunities
