Join us as a Staff Software Engineer on the Mailchimp DotCom team and play a key role in owning and evolving Mailchimp.com — the marketing website that serves as the front door for every prospect who discovers Mailchimp through search, direct visits, or AI surfaces. As a Staff Software Engineer on the DotCom team, you will lead the design and development of a performant, scalable, and reliable web platform that fuels Mailchimp's growth and experimentation engine. The DotCom team is both a Growth & Experimentation team and a Platform & Engineering Excellence team — we own the full prospect journey, from the moment someone discovers Mailchimp to the moment they convert into a paying customer, while building world-class page speed, AI-led experimentation capabilities, and durable platform infrastructure. You'll collaborate with engineers, product managers, designers, and marketing partners to deliver systems that directly move the needle on new business revenue for millions of prospects worldwide.

  • Technical Leadership: Guide and mentor a team of engineers in building world-class capabilities for the Identity system.

  • Innovation: Design and implement new user experiences and advanced Kubernetes services that are secure, reliable, and scalable.

  • Collaboration: Work closely with cross-functional teams, including product management and architecture, to align system designs with business goals.

  • Problem-Solving: Tackle complex technical problems, ensuring the delivery of robust solutions that support experimentation and future growth strategies.

  • Impact: Drive the evolution of Intuit’s business model by delivering systems that empower Mailchimp and QuickBooks users to succeed.


Responsibilities

  • In this role you will be the overall lead of front end, which includes a hosted authoring environment, administrative UIs, and runtime application UI generations

  • Architecting and developing software, prototypes, or proofs of concepts (POC’s)

  • Leading the gathering of functional requirements, developing technical specifications, and project & test planning

  • Acting as the technical subject matter expert: mentoring fellow engineers, demonstrating technical expertise, and leading a small team solving challenging programming and design problems

  • Generate technical documentation and PowerPoint presentations to communicate architectural and design options, and educate development teams and business users

  • Resolve defects/bugs during QA testing, pre-production, production, and post-release patches

  • Work cross-functionally with various Intuit teams including: product management, QA/QE, various product lines, and/or business units to drive forward results

  • Demonstrate a passion for developing well architected, elegant, frontend or backend software.

  • Experience with Agile Development, SCRUM, or Extreme Programming methodologies


Qualifications

  • 8+ years’ experience designing, developing, maintaining, and innovating enterprise level, cloud native applications or platform, specifically in the front end

  • Strong leadership experience: Leading meetings, presenting, technical go to person, and cross-functional leader

  • BS/MS in computer science or equivalent work experience

  • Strong coding skills with the following: JavaScript/React, Python

  • Working knowledge of Java/J2EE, Kotlin would be helpful

  • Expertise with the entire Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC)

  • 3+ years’ experience with micro services architecture and API designs (REST, GraphQL)

  • A passion for operational excellence and DevOps mentality

  • Excellent communication skills: Demonstrated ability to explain complex technical issues to both technical and non-technical audiences

  • Expertise in the Software design/architecture process

  • Expertise with unit testing & Test Driven Development (TDD)

  • Business Acumen - strategic thinking & strategy development

The expected base pay range for this position is:
San Diego $188,500 - $255,000
