Location: Perris, CA
Job Type: Hourly Consultant
Hours: 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM, Monday – Friday
Pay: $20.00/hour

Essential Functions:
  • Operate high-speed, high-volume mail processing equipment including mail inserters, sorters, postage systems, and finishing equipment.

  • Perform document finishing activities including folding, inserting, labeling, sealing, packaging, and posting mail.

  • Process production mail jobs, including mail merge, address cleansing, barcode validation, and mailing list maintenance.

  • Coordinate automated and manual finishing, fulfillment, and mailing processes to ensure timely and accurate delivery.

  • Manage electronic input, packaging activities, and fulfillment operations in a fast-paced production environment.

  • Receive, sort, process, and distribute incoming mail, packages, supplies, and accountable mail.

  • Deliver and collect mail on scheduled routes throughout the facility.

  • Track, trace, and resolve mailing and shipping issues with USPS, FedEx, and other courier services.

  • Prepare packages and documentation for outbound shipments using automated shipping systems.

  • Perform quality control checks on outbound mail, validate addresses, and ensure compliance with mailing standards.

  • Process electronic mail distribution, including scanning, preparation, and digital distribution of documents.

  • Assemble, package, ship, and track fulfillment materials and kits.

  • Maintain shipping and mailroom logs, barcode tracking systems, and distribution records.

  • Monitor inventory levels and replenish mailroom and shipping supplies as needed.

  • Operate, clean, and perform basic maintenance on mailroom and shipping equipment; coordinate service requests when necessary.

  • Recommend process improvements to increase efficiency, reduce costs, and optimize workflow.

  • Serve as a point of contact for special mailing projects and unique shipping requirements.

  • Follow all mailroom security procedures and company policies.

  • Communicate professionally with customers and team members to ensure excellent service.

Skills:
  • Ability to lift and move up to 50 pounds.

  • Ability to read, write, and follow written and verbal instructions in English.

  • Intermediate PC and internet proficiency.

  • Intermediate Microsoft Word skills, including mail merge, forms, tables, headers/footers, and document formatting.

  • Intermediate Microsoft Excel skills, including formulas, charts, multiple worksheets, and basic data analysis.

  • Working knowledge of Microsoft PowerPoint.

  • Experience using Adobe Acrobat or similar document management and file conversion software.

  • Basic knowledge of network printing and printer setup.

  • Working knowledge of digital front-end systems and Mac operating systems when required.

  • Ability to operate mailroom equipment including:

    • Inserters

    • Finishing equipment

    • Postage meters

    • Envelope printers

    • Mailing scales

    • Pitney Bowes mail management systems

    • FedEx shipping systems

  • Strong customer service and communication skills.

  • Excellent organizational and multitasking abilities.

  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.

  • Accurate data entry skills.

  • Experience using production mail software.

  • Ability to estimate, schedule, and coordinate mailing jobs.

  • Ability to train and mentor other mailroom associates.

Experience:
  • 1–2 years of experience operating mailroom equipment and performing production mail or shipping functions in a high-volume environment.

  • Experience with USPS, courier services, shipping software, and mail processing procedures.

  • Experience with mail fulfillment, shipping, receiving, and inventory management preferred.

  • Demonstrated ability to maintain accuracy while meeting production deadlines.

Education:
  • High school diploma or GED required.

  • Additional training or certification in mail operations, shipping, logistics, or production services is a plus.
