This Recovery Room Registered Nurse opportunity is per diem on our PACU Unit and offers convenient schedule. We are looking for a dynamic PACU Registered Nurse (RN) that will help provide provide direct patient care to infant through geriatric patient populations in the OR arena. You will address the psychosocial, physical and general aspects of care related to the surgical environment. This position communicates with surgeon and anesthesiologist continuously and as needed about patient condition. Assists with the maintenance of surgical equipment and pain management inventory. Assesses operating room / procedure room for equipment functioning and readiness, obtains supplies for individual cases and ensures all appropriate needs of surgical operating team are met. Monitors, positions and assists patient during procedure.
Job Duties/Responsibilities:
* Demonstrates supportive behaviors necessary for performing bedside report using IMAP & SBAR (both accomplished in partnership with patient inside room)
* Demonstrates ability to perform head-to-toe pre-procedure assessment on all patients and reassesses post procedure as needed.
* Demonstrate knowledge of the principles of growth and development over the life span and the skills necessary to provide age appropriate care to the patient population served. Able to interpret data about the patient's status in order to identify each patient's age specific needs and provide care needed by the patient group.
