Job description

Doctor of Pharmacy (PharmD) degree, active Pharmacist license, and minimum 1+ years Pharmacist experience required. Applicants who do not meet these qualifications will not be considered.

A 13-week contract opportunity is available for a Staff Pharmacist skilled in long-term care and mail order pharmacy environments. This role involves variable shifts Monday through Friday with weekend hours on Saturday and Sunday, providing comprehensive pharmaceutical support across multiple settings.

Location: Minneapolis, MN
Schedule:

  • Monday–Friday: Variable shifts (9:30 AM–6:00 PM / 10:00 AM–6:30 PM / 11:00 AM–8:30 PM)
  • Saturday–Sunday: 10:00 AM–6:30 PM

Key Responsibilities:

  • Accept and dispense prescription medications while ensuring compliance with legal standards and patient safety.
  • Monitor patient medication adherence and detect potential overuse or misuse patterns.
  • Maintain accurate, confidential patient records and pharmacy files in a meticulous manner.
  • Provide thorough consultation to patients about prescription and over-the-counter medications, including usage instructions, potential side effects, and drug interactions.
  • Educate patients on the correct use of medical devices such as blood pressure monitors and glucose meters.
  • Deliver additional patient services like smoking cessation counseling, blood pressure monitoring, and cholesterol management.
  • Compound medications, including sterile preparations, adhering to proper procedures.
  • Supervise pharmacy staff including technicians and clerks to ensure smooth pharmacy operations.
  • Manage pharmaceutical and medical supply inventories effectively.
  • Collaborate closely with healthcare providers to identify and resolve drug-related problems, ensuring optimal patient care.

Qualifications and Desired Experience:

  • Doctor of Pharmacy (PharmD) degree required.
  • Active Minnesota Pharmacy license.
  • Experience in long-term care pharmacy highly desirable.
  • IV compounding experience is a plus but not mandatory.
